As I mentioned in today's post I needed to fix the drivers side door in my truck. Background is it's a 96 Ford F250.

About a week ago the door handle broke and I had to roll the window down to open the door.

As it turns out the door itself broke. After years of use the panel in the door broke from fatigue.

I found some leftover material and made a patch panel. Riveted and jb welded it into place.

Results speak for themselves.

It's real nice to have a working door again.

Good job! Many years ago, I had to do something similar on my old Ford van - the sheet metal in the door frame that held the post that the door latched onto weakened and broke.

The good thing it was warm this weekend which helped and today temps were near 70. It's got 242.5K on it. A week ago it was near zero. I don't work in cold weather like I use to. So if something can wait till it warms up it will.
