I have a 1993 LT1 coupe. I ordered an engine from Golen Engine service, which ended up being a 94-96 LT1 engine.
The fuel rails from my 93 do not connect properly to the 94-96 intake, and a 93 corvette connects the fuel rails on the passenger side, while the fuel rails from a 94-96 connect to the fuel lines from the driver side.

has anyone installed a 94-96 engine on a 93 LT1 using the original fuel rails..or did you replace them with the newer style ones..and if so how did you make it connect from the drivers side if it was designed for the passenger side? thanks!

Marc,

That new engine is using Fbody(camaro/firebird) fuel rails as all the LT1/4 corvettes had their fuel lines come in on the passenger side. All Fbodies had their come in on the driver's side. The 93s also used a completely different style than the 94-96 as you've now found out. Easiest thing to do is to swap intakes like Andy suggested. The fuel rail components are not cheap or easy to find unless you get lucky on Ebay or something.

Trey,
thanks for the info. You made me just realize that the engine I bought from Golen came from an F-body..the entire time I thought he sent me a corvette LT-1 engine..same with the ported/polished intake I bought from him...I guess Ill put that on E-bay and install my corvette LT-1 intake on the engine...there should be no issues with that, correct? (as in a 93 LT1 intake on a 94-96 F body LT-1 engine)?
thanks again

Pull the pan and see how many main bolts it is. Corvette LT1s are all 4 bolt, the rest were only 2 bolt.

Also, the 92-94 have the GenI Optispark, the 95-96 have the GenII vented optispark. There are other internal differences, but I would have to pull out my book to list them. Like Case said pull the pan and if it is a two bolt main then it is not even a corvette engine. Hope you didn't get ripped off.

You guys bring up a good point about the 2 bolt versus 4 bolt main. I'd go over your order information carefully and verify what exactly you paid for.

There is no issue with swapping intakes so long as you do it as a complete unit with fuel rails and vacuum ports. I'm almost positive the heads were the same for all years of the LT1, Fbody and vette. I'd have to dig to verify but I'm confident that's correct.

There are three different sets of aluminum LT1 head castings but they're all interchangeable and have no bearing on intake fitment. The later LT1 intakes are not that pricey but the later Corvette fuel rails are. I recently sold a set for $150 and the guy was glad to get them. By comparison, the F-body, Impala, etc. rails are worth only a fraction of that.

now that I have gone over everything,
I have a late model (94-96) LT1 engine stroked to 383 from Golen Engine Services. My car is a 1993 LT1 A4. So the fuel rails do not line up perfectly from a 93 to the intake of a 94-96.
I will pay top dollar for a set of 94-96 fuel rails..I do not want to go back to the old manifold from my 93 as Golen sold me a ported and polished 94-96 LT1 manifold matched to my heads. If anyone has a set email me at marc.macaspac@gmail.com
thanks!

If you're in a rush you could try Vette 2 Vette, or dino's corvette salvage. They may have them in stock.

AAAHHH! There's an easier way to do this. You can modify your fuel rails to fit. I'm investigating modifying my '93 rails to move the cross tube so I can fit a standard distributer in and ditch the optispark. you just drill holes in the end and add AN fittings and braided hose.

There's a guy that does it for $40 if you aren't willing to try it yourself, just send him your fuel rail.

If you are interested I can send you his email.
