Good morning CGs!

How is everyone's day so far? I got up, still a little sore from yesterday's workout, and started putzing around the house. Cleaned up the bedroom, changed the sheets, picked up all the laundry....and my wife says I don't do anything!

Still have some errands to do. I have to go to the pool store and get some shock (pool looks like crap...I've been slacking). Gonna try to get the truck washed and do a few other various things. What are your plans for today?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning Gurus!

No guess on trivia for me.

I told myself last night that during my walk today, I would try to jog at least 10 paces, and start slowly working toward jogging the entire 4 miles instead of walking.

I ended up jogging 100 paces in three different sections. It's not much in the grand scheme, but a good baby step. I will try to add 20 paces to each time I attempt to jog each day, and maybe in a couple years I will be able to jog four miles...

Other than about a minute of heavier breathing to recover, there were no ill effects. Other than perhaps scared passersby witnessing the flagrant flatulent flapping.

I have to say, it was almost unnerving moving that fast without motorized help. I don't think I've jogged since my last Gym class in 1987.

Besides that little bit of TMI, I don't have much else to report.

Have a most excellent day, and whatever you do, for the love of GOD do not click on Tommy's Swami videos!

Chris, here's something to try. When you start running/jogging, you will become anarobic..(you can't catch your breath. Then, usually after a half a mile, you become arobic. It used to be called catching your second wind.

You have to run thru being "out of breath", until your body shifts to being arobic.

Hope this helps.

I look forward to that. But I would feel more comfortable working up to it a little. I'd hate to have a heart attack at 6am, in the dark, a mile and a half from home on a lonely street.

It is encouraging to know that it gets easier though, THANKS!

Once you get into the groove, does the time it takes to become aerobic decrease, or do you always have to push through it just as hard?

Good morning. I need to get to the pool store also, seems like it always costs me 100 bucks when I go! Found a small roof leak last night, that will be my first project. Have a good one.

Wow, just dropped two bills at the pool store...somehow this is reminding me of my vette...every time I go to do one thing it costs me $200....Oh well.

Chris, you're on the right track. Keep adding a little more distance each time you are jogging and you'll get there buddy. Here's a good article on the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercise:

http://www.e-health-fitness.com/defin ... bic_activity-exercise.htm

http://www.e-health-fitness.com/types_of_aerobic_exercise.htm

Hope this helps.

No other guesses on the wildcard trivia??? Here's a hint - it was *not* George Washington.

For the better part of 4 years, I ran 6 miles per day, 5 days per week in jungle boots with a 40lb sandbag in my rucksack.

Now, if it's raining, I might run from the house to the car.

Might.
