I read that more like don't do work that will land you into incarceration. Like a personal property recycler, illicit substance distribution specialist or an income alignment consultant.

I have a feeling that even if I was homeless I wouldn't have any free time.

Just don't be a slave to your job. Keep yourself employable, and don't be more loyal to them than they are to you. And career shouldn't come first before family/friends/fun.
