Saw this posted 'over there', I showed it to my builder, his guy can't beat it. Just wondering if any of you have heard anything about them.

Looks like a pretty darn good price to me. I'd like to hear some feedback. Wonder if they do L98s, too.

Wow. Even with shipping I don't think I can get it that cheap locally. Figure the cost of a good block, machining, etc. Impressive.

BTW, what's a BHJ fixture?

Short block stroker for $3500.

What's the difference on blocks from a 1-pc main L98 to an LT1?

Its funny this thread came up, I was looking at something similar on Ebay. It almost doesn't pay to send a used block out to a local machine shop. I wonder what the quality of the block and specifically the bores are? I've read that some of these places just punch these things out, without plates, and that makes for some low quality junk? I don't know anything about the machine work process, but it would be interesting to find out more about this company's reputation.

The cooling ports are totally different... so are the bolt patterns for the heads.

I have added my thoughts:

STEEL FOUR BOLT SPLAYED MAIN CAPS - Sweet
ARP MAIN STUDS - Good choice
YOUR CHOICE OF BORE SIZE - 4.020 - 4.030 - 4.040 - 4.060 - Nice to have options
DECKED 90 DEGREES PARALLEL TO THE CRANKSHAFT CENTERLINE - Makes sense
CYLINDERS FINISH HONED FOR MOLY RINGS - Cool, but I didn't realize that Moly rings required a different hone.
CLEARANCED FOR UP TO 3.875 STROKE CRANKSHAFTS - Good.
SCREW IN OIL GALLEY PLUGS - Nice.
ONE PIECE REAR MAIN SEAL - Duh.
ACCEPTS FACTORY OR AFTERMARKET ROLLER CAMS - I would hope.
BRASS FREEZE PLUGS - Ok.
NEW CAM BEARINGS INSTALLED - Nice.
ALL MACHINING PERFORMED WITH BHJ FIXTURES - Ok.
FINISHED WITH VHT SATIN BLACK ENGINE ENAMEL - Rattle Can?

Finally, what about cleaning up the oil journals and cooling ports? Any epoxy on the valley?

Otherwise, it looks like a fair deal.
