Well,

Its finally gone. Eight years of work went into my dads 72 C3 Vette, and the new owner took the keys yesterday. It was a very interesting conclusion. After the car left, I could see that my father wasn't really ready to let her go. I feel bad, but hey, what can ya do? There will be others. I hope the new owner enjoys her as much as we have over the past decade.

Maybe we'll get a new forum member out of it...

After 8 years of work, that had to be tough to watch the trailer pull away, indeed.

I thought the two best days in a corvette owner's life were the day they bought it and the day they sold it?

I'm glad for your dad that he was able to sell it and maybe pick up the newer one that he wants. But it is hard to see it go after all that hard work.

Let us know what your dad decides with the new one.

I think he changed his plan a little and decided to keep the C5 that he got over the summer, and use the money from the C3 to pay it off. Economy is really bad right now, we are all trying to reduce our "payouts" as much as possible. My girlfriend and I are working hard to try and get the C6 paid off quick. Thankfully she is doing very well at work... my future is beginning to look bleak. I know my dad pretty well, if things get better over the summer, you can bet you will see another cool car in the future. It was tough though, for the whole of us, watching the guy drive away with it. I grew up with that car.

Looks like your dad did some serious mods to the car. You said it was a '72. Did you and your dad switch our the rear and front clip to look more like a '75? That was a huge wing on the car. I usually don't like wings on the back of C3's but that didn't look too bad.

Sorry to see it go!

I'm trying to talk Curt into buying a C5...which he really wants, because then he'd have a killer C3 and a kickazz C5.

I Know what you mean ...my one son "Dean Jr." said the cool thing about my Vette is that when I finally "kick" he won't even have to change the tags ...
