The can on the left from Mid-america motorworks is a beautiful rich metallic "silver" finish just like O.E.
The can on the right from Corvette Central is some cheap hardware store junk that cost me $25. with shipping.
Be aware.

Mid America tends to carry a lot more quality than some of the other vendors, though in some cases ALL of the Corvette vendors get their parts from the same manufacturers.

Thanks for the info! The valve covers on the 87 were my next detail project. Dupli-Color makes an OEM color (probably a generic) for valve covers. Advanced Auto $6.98/rattle can. Called bright gray.
Would powered coating last longer?

Yes, powder coating will last longer. Note that some of the black powder coar can get slightly dull over time.

Duplicolor makes very good paint, it's not generic.
All of their High Heat paint works well and does stand up to the heat. Their Hi Temp Ceramic is eapecially good, I did my entire exhause system with it, still looks good at 4 years.
Their "anodized" hi temp paint work and stands up to engine temps, I've used this too.

Even better paint -SEM products.

Don'y buy the stuff in the catalogs unless you know who makes it. And a lot of the stuff in stores is crap with exceptions like Krylon Fusion for plastics.

Note: Most of the touchup paint at Corvette Central, etc. is done by outside vendors and is OK.
