How much did the NAPA washers cost? napaonline won't give me a price.

Got some today at Autozone for $3/ea

Which is still way cheaper than GM...

It was about $5.00 for all four. I looked at Autozone but came up empty. That is why I ended up at NAPA.

Does it look any better to you in the pictures? I had heard it wasn't very good but thought I'd have a look see for myself. My experience is not very good at this so maybe I'm missing something. Are you speaking of the ports themselves or it the bolting up to the heads or what? I can probably touch the ports up if you think they aren't good enough as is.

My intake had a lot of little casting/machining flaws. Stuff like extra material inside EGR ports, big ugly casting ridges in the ports themselves, some of the threaded holes were crappy and I had to chase them. Just from the pics I saw, yours looked better than mine. Obviously I can't inspect yours up close, but just my general observation. This is also comparing my hi-flow intake base to your LT4, but it speaks to Edelbrock's general mass production vs quality.

They must have got their act together. Below is a picture of the only issue I had. The heads have a lip on them the intake wouldn't quite go by so I had to grind a little bit off each side.

Not finished yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Mike,
Its looking hot! I love the valve covers, what do you think of them? Not too bad a price for custom covers either.

Thanks Grizz!

Quality wise, excellent. Fitment wise, they have problems.
passengers side needed a hole for the vent tube on my '96. No problem there just popped a 7/8 hole in and put the grommet in.

Drivers side is not so good. Had to grind a little here and there to get it to fit because of the wiper motor and the AC/alternator bracket. This was mentioned to me but of course being me I continued on anyway. Once on, the alternator won't go down far enough for the top bracket hole to line up. It hits the cover on the bottom. I did use a cork reinforced gasket and they are a good 3/8" or better thick. So that is probably part of it.

Having said all of this I'll come up with something to make them work. I like the look of them and can't see going back to the OE covers.
