I'm really sad due to the oil spill. I hope I can get some of that money too. Then I can go to Chuck E Cheese for recovery.

I've been caused mental anguish from having to watch it on tv. What do I get?

I'm concerned that contaminated dust on my cars may have an impact on the paint. 7 new paint jobs could take care of any microscopic issues at least temporarily. Oh ya, how much can I get for really bad dreams.

The share price of my BP stock has fallen by over 50% and they have canceled dividends, causing me great emotional distress over my stupidity of not having dumped the stock 8 weeks ago. Where's mine?

Your's, Ha, it will be in the lawyers pocket after their class action lawsuit, just like the lawyers against TYCO did to me.

As far as I can work out from the news, Obama is/was hell bent on destroying BP so as to boost his own popularity during mid terms... absolutely crazy and not good for anyone IMO

That could be a motivation to do nothing (although I thought it was just incompetence.) But the inaction or perceived inaction is hurting him also. He isn't running against BP for office.

Shhhh! Don't try to make sense of this!

Its pure madness, finger pointing and inaction to avoid prosecution.

Good call Bill. Not so good for the investors. I have shares in a top 500 index fund. I still take a hit but it's spread out a little. Sorry for you guys taking a hit. Stocks are a form of gambling in a way. Any company on any given day can jump on a rollercoaster ride. Long term it may come back just fine but it's either cut and run or stay on the roller coaster and hope for the best. One thing I've learned from the past. Diversify, diversify, diversify. I'm still way down from my high but I still have some eggs ln my basket.

Well, mine was in my 401. Working for a fortune 100 company and investing in company stock used to be a fairly smart move.
I lost a shitload. On one lawsuit that affected my 401, TYCO settled for over one billion, the lawyers got rich, I lost $30k. Got the settlement letter advising that I could check on the settlement payment online in my 401.
I checked, the payment to me was $497.00.

Now if only everyone got a law degree and practiced as an attorney, everyone would be rich!

Or a degree in engineering.

Dunno, when I was an engineer, the salary was in the "barely can feed yourself" range.
