Like 140 bank1 and 160 bank2.

I have checked for exhaust leaks, and intake leaks. Unless the manifold is leaking inside where the flange on the head is I can't find anything sucking vacuum. These numbers just seem ridiculous to me for something not popping up so I can see it or hear it. STFT on both banks is within 5% + or - either way.

Should I just drive it a while and see if they come down any?

140 is completely innocuous.

160 means something is seriously broken.

No, you need to fix the (apparently many) physical problems with your car. Driving it with a 160 BLM will break stuff.

Ok, so where do I start. Now if I rev the engine up slightly these numbers come down some.

I would put the Edlebrock back on. See what happens. Also, with the ported manifold off, check under the manifold where the idle control passageways are, to see if there is a smoking gun per sey.
There are so many things that could be wrong with a manifold swap. Air from where the bolts go in? (I am not sure, but do you put thread sealant on manifold bolts?)
Are the injector plugs on the correct injector. Dont laugh, it has happened before.
EGR?
AIR hooked up?
Pics of the whole manifold wiring/hoses.
Brake booster line going in.
PCV hoses to manifold?

Previously you reported that LT/ST trims were all 128, and it was dumping fuel, and it was running lean.

Which two of those were incorrect, and what changed since then?

Car idles the best it has in I don't know how long. No AIR, No EGR and yes every pipe or hose is hooked up.

I can only tell what I see at this moment because it has changed between changing out two different intakes. Part of the lean condition was fuel pressure, it was off a little bit. I also discovered a exhaust leak on the drivers side right before the cat. I also had a slight leak where I had plugged the AIR tube on the headers. All of those appear to be fixed now. I did up load an adjustment for WOT AFR but it was supposed to be for WOT only @12.8 AFR.

Turns out it was warped or had a hump right at the PCV connection on the flange that goes against the head. I can send it back or true it up. I haven't decided yet.

I might but I have read a lot about the quality of their castings since I got the one I have. Another one may be as a bad or something different wrong with it and I did was waste some time waiting on it.I feel I can get it pretty true. At least enough where some RTV will make up the difference.

You could always have it ported/trued up by LE, and sell it?

Disconnected the battery for about a minute. Made it worse. STFT is about +2%@131 LTFT bank 1 is 160 and bank 2 is 170. At least it's about consistent on both sides now LOL.....Has to be that intake! I guess I'll pull it off again.

With the manifold off, verify its compatible with the gasket and matches up to your heads.

Oh yeah for sure.

The Air gap has felt the wrath of my belt sander. It's much better than it was to say the least. If I use RTV on both sides of the gasket it should seal just fine. Might have before but it would have bugged me to death knowing that bump was there. I'll come back later tomorrow or Tuesday to post my results.

Don't think I haven't thought about that. Lets see, I've had the intake off this motor a total of 6 times I believe. What's the chances of it not sealing these last two times? I must be doing something way wrong somewhere. The only difference between this time is the heads. Four times with the stock heads and two with the AFR's.

There is one more thing I did different when I put the TPIS headers on. I used stainless steel bolts like you'd buy at your local hardware. Is it possible they stretch or something and cause a slight exhaust leak? Should I change them out with Grade 8?

What about this cam? The exhaust smells really strong for a cam no bigger than what it is. Could the combustion be incomplete or something like that setting off the 02's. Maybe it does need advancing or retarding. I keep thinking back to what the tuner said about not enough air flow for the mods I have. If the cam is wrong then wouldn't the combustion not be as complete as it should?

Back when I had that "Problem,Problems,Problems" thread at CF one of the responses was that my compression numbers because they were so high was a good sign the cam was advanced. I have those numbers somewhere but for the most part they were 200-220 I believe.

(1) No EGR

(2) I'm going to plug every vac fitting on the intake and recheck BLM's

(3) Both 02's are Delphi AFS75. Bank 1 02 was put in on Friday. Bank 2 is older but going through the numbers just like bank 1 is.

(4) My springs are rated 155# on the seat. I did set the pre load at 3/4 turn this time with the engine running when I put these AFR's on. To much? BLM's get better when the motor is revved slightly. Could this be it? Maybe just not enough oil pressure at idle for the lifters to work correctly? Once revved up some the oil pressure increases and that is why the BLMs improve dramatically. I should be so lucky...........Have I been chasing a Ghost?

Ok, got the intake back on and torqued down @ 35ftlbs. That's scary in these soft heads! AFR recommends not even torquing them to factory specs. There was a flier in with the heads that said that. Just slight better than good and snug whatever that means. I did it anyway though very slowly with no problems. I'm going to let it compress overnight and recheck the torque tomorrow morning. I'll fire it up tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping this has it sealed. If not I have no idea what else to do.

Here's what I did:

I used the Felpro 1284 gasket. I put Black RTV on the head side of the gasket all the way across it and stuck them on. I let it sit about 30 minutes with the weight of the intake only on them. Then I removed the intake and sealed the upper side and the china walls. I then installed the intake again but this time torqued the bolts to about 10 ftlbs. I let that sit about 30 minutes then re torqued to 20 ftlbs. I let that sit about 30 minutes and re torqued to a little less that 30 ftlbs. Let that sit 30 minutes and finished it off at 35 ftlbs. We'll see how all of this plays out tomorrow. I used the stock intake bolts this time with high pressure grease under the head to help with torquing.

Did you calibrate your torque wrench to SAE standards when the second moon of the months aligned with Mars?
Just Kidding. I think you will be fine.
I do calibrate my torque wrenches, only because I know someone that will do it for free

Your tuner can add closed TPS timing to help clean up the combustion at idle.

Those compression numbers are very similar to mine.

Just for shits and giggles, put your factory throttle body back on and see what happens.
Its a known fact , cams, strokers and aftermarket throttle bodies can cause split BLMS/FT issues.

No luck on the tb switch Steve, nothing changed. However, I did get Bank1 squared away. There was a leak in the plug on the AIR fitting. I put a M22X1.5 oil plug in there and all is well on that side. I had made one for the other side out of an old AIR fitting so I thought it may be leaking also. I switched sides with the two plugs but no change. I switched out 02's on the Bank2 side three times just to see if anything changed at all, nothing. So, I guess I'm down to the exhaust gasket. I used the Felpro gaskets. I ordered some Percy's today from Jegs. Their shipping to me is usually fast so I should have them Friday, hopefully.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll report back when I get the gasket changed on Bank 2.

kind of a stupid question but did you disconnect the battery during your intake swap. if not i don't think you will see an instant change on the ltft without driving it for a while.

How long does it take for BLMS/LTFT's to change? SHould you go drive for a while?

Its been while since I was up to date on this subject but as I remember it would go off of previous stft and it needed to have repetitive differences to change? I could be talking out my ass but I recall something along those lines.

So, if you disconnected the battery, it should erase the memory?

I have one of those battery disconnect switches. I always disconnect it.

While I wait on my gaskets, how would be the best way to check the wiring on bank 2 02? Just ohm each pin in the plug to ground?

I did this to my AS&M 58MM t body years ago. No difference. But, the tuners I have dealt with keep telling me vacuum leak.
If you read the amount of threads of split BLMS, it will drive you insane.
Starting in 94, tuners were/are able to tune each cylinder to alot for inequalities in idle air passages. I think GM put this tune in just for this purpose alone, knowing the LT1 manifold isnt very good. Even Lingenfelter talks about it in his book.
I have had factory, BBK T Body and of course factory, different cams, different headers, two different manifolds, changed all vacuum lines, O2 sensors(heated and unheated), gaskets, injectors. The list goes on, I have always had split BLMs on this car, 1993 Vette.
Not as bad as it is with stroker and camshaft currently in, but have always had it. I have DIACOM logs back to the days of Noah being a deck seaman, and they were there.
When does the madness end. No one has a clear cut fix, no one, just band aids.

I did this to my BBK 52 but that was just to help with idle. I got the info from Jim Masons link to the Grand Sport registry. It helped the idle. I think I'm going to try the 52 just for more shits and giggles. I'm not getting enough of them lately.......

I have another new 02 coming. That will make both of them brand new Delphis. I'm going to put that in and just drive the damn thing. I'm tired of messing with it!

I am looking for a OEM throttle body for shits and giggles. My AS&M is nice, but overkill for my 396.

Look at the throttle body here, this is mine. What does the upper airway passage do for the throttle body?
Lower modification discussed ealrier

Top portion no one has spoken of.

Isn't the top portion for the PCV system? That's the air intake for it.

you guys know there's separate passages for the idle circuit in the manifold right?

the holes come out into the each cylinder intake.

I did make a thread on that here somewhere. Its hows/talks about where the holes are and to drill them out the size of the largest hole. I may do this later sometime.
94-96 LT1's can individually tune the cylinders, so a 92-93 may be more beneficial to this as we are batch fire.
Here is a little data.
