GOOD MORNING! TO YOU TOO

We had a great weekend! I got a lot accomplished. Starred in a television commercial for the Chebbie Dealership, cleaned the house, cut the grass, got the transmission out of the car, went to a fall outdoor wine tasting yesterday afternoon with the Corvette Club. Now I need some rest.

Pete -- give me a shout when you want me to bring this transmission up to you... that is if you still want to do it. I understand if you got too much going on. I'm typically in the same boat. I think you still have my phone number, if not I'll email you separately.

Have a great day all.

Good Morning Gurus. Rainy and usually warm today. High near 78. Possibility of violent storms later today.
Productive weekend. Final grass cutting, outside is ready for winter, put down 9 bags of fertilizer and 8 bags of Ironite, drained the ponds and put away patio furniture. Damn I hate winter!
Vettes are stored

Those are much better than a fall indoor wine tasting. If you fall indoors your have a much better chance of hitting your head on something.

If you fall in the woods cause you passed out and there's no one else around, does it make a sound?

I could use some high winds around here. Some critter killed and ate a dove. Now I have dove feathers all over my mulch. A good howling wind would blow it all away for me.

We have Harbor Country in Michigan, the soil and climate are ideal for wine making. Tabor Hill is one of the Winerys that supplies the White House and is hugh. Probably no where near Napa Valley but still impressive. Last weekend did a 40 mile tour of Michigan Winerys Free wine tasting, chesse and crackers. Great time, hope to do it again next weekend.
We need a Corvette Club!

And Annie Green Springs, MD 20/20.

I don't buy much wine for the house, got extremely spoiled by Napa Valley. When I was racing at Infineon, Napa was 10 minutes away, so those race weekends always included a winery tour.

It was also great for soothing the throat after taking in a little Acapulco Gold or Colombian Red. At least that's what I heard.

Ah.. Mad Dog 20/20...
Bill the guys that I know that have S&W 9mm pistols are not real happy with them. S&W makes great revolvers! Seems like they are ammo sensitive. Went out target shooting Saturday with Erin some of those guys are now using Ruger SRT-8 in 9mm and 40 cal. Nice feel. I shoot H&K and Glocks they are ugly but every time you pull the trigger they go Bang.
BTW I think the new Ruger is less expensive then the S&W. Used a S&W Model 39 in the service jambed alot, not good in our line of work. We solved the problem with reworked 45's from WW2. The Marine Corp did them for us. Can't beat a 1911. Everybody and their brother makes 1911's now.

Ah.. but Ron your not getting the bouquet and aroma of the grape and the precision of the wine makers craft. The delicate taste of the natural sugars and the essence of the sun on the petals of life. Holy shit I had a moment.

Wine is Fine but Ripple will cripple.

I had to go cheapo, bought the Sigma, should have bought the SRT. But, I was out the door for $260, ya get what you pay for.
The Sigma's a POS but does go bang, usually off target because of the trigger pull. At least, it's given me my first experience at gunsmithing. The trigger now pulls evenly and doesn't feel like sandpaper. I just got a new spring for the slide to further reduce the pull but haven't put it in yet (and that may requtre premimum ammo).

Been lookin' at the new Glock, 40, that has the laser built into the rear sight.

I toured the wine rooms at a large casino here, they had separate rooms for red and white, 22,000 bottles

They had 5 bottles of Philipe Rothchild @ $1,500 each, No they didn't give me a taste.

Erin wants a laser. I guess I'm really old school-point and shoot. Laser might make my think instead of react. Old habits and training are hard to break.
BTW Erin out shot 6 police officers Sat. afternoon at 21 feet. Her center mass hits didn't deviate more than 1". I think thats cool! Police guys were a little pissed. Kids.

Sigmas have the same style action as the Glocks, matter a fact I think S&W was sued because of that action. Anyway, the sear as you probably already know is the key for a smooth trigger pull and spring. Tolerances on the Sigma are all over the place. Remove too much and it will fire all by itself or when dropped or became an automatic, not good.

She likes my Beretta large frame Elite in 40 Cal. I gave it to her for home protection, she carries a Glock in .357 Sig when she travels. I think the laser would go on the Beretta.

Yea, the sear had freekin' machine marks across it, unbelieveable. Luckly, 2000 grit removed them and Mother's Chrome & Mag Wheel polish does a nice job.

The othet thing is that the piece holding the sear rubs on the polymer (more sandpaper feel).

I'll trade the Sigma in when I gat another, live and learn, you do get what you pay for.

But with 16 rounds, I can get 3 in an intruder easily, even with this POS.

When I get the next one, I'll go from 9 to 40. I'm only interested in knocking someone down in the house.

We had a home invasion 9 or 10 years ago. Time flies when your having fun! The problem I had was which weapon to choose. M-4, AK, 45 or 357 magnum. I chose the M-4. 3 of them didn't shoot any of them, I just....tortured them a little bit...Ok a lot. My peace loving wife was really upset with me. What can I say? sorry it won't happened again, and I'll clean up the blood. That was the night I had to set her down and explain exactly what I did in the Navy.
Her response was I'm glad you knew what to do! but Ron..you where enjoying it!

Good Morning CGs!

Oh my goodness, is this what happens to chat when I'm not around? Sheesh

Had a rough night...lots of crying, potty breaks, puking, and diaper changing...and that was just for the wife.

Bill, I've never shot the sigma, but everything I read said it's a pos, just like you said. The new M&P is supposed to be an outstanding gun, I'm thinking of picking one up. But they aren't cheap.

Haven't run in over a week, so I'm hoping to get a short one in. I wanted to go last night, but it was storming like a mofo.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Bill, I've never shot the sigma, but everything I read said it's a pos, just like you said. The new M&P is supposed to be an outstanding gun, I'm thinking of picking one up. But they aren't cheap.

Matthew

I bought the Sigma with a snap decision because there were some teenagers around here doing stupid shit.
Better N nothing.

I think the Glock with the Laserlyte built in is a good deal (for me),(Cabela's puts it on sale for $549).

I've used the M&P 40cal. Fired about 100 rounds through it. Hallow points did stove pipe. Ball ammo fired fine. Fit and finish was par with S&W.
Opps this reading like a gun blog

Wow guys....good morning. I don't own a hand gun...but I have considered one, just to have "in case". My little brother has like 30....revolvers, semis and even one single shot (hehehe). I like his glock 9mm, fun gun to shoot.

We are in for a huge change in weather this week, yesterday mid 70's light breeze, today a cold front is moving through and the wind is supposed to start blowing. Hard freeze and more "seasonal" temps.

It's going to be a busy next two weeks here at school. Start doing standardized testing to all students and then parent/teacher conferences next week. Fun time coming.....

Sounds great Don. I only have 2 engines to tidy up. I hope to have them done in the next 2 weeks, so I am in great shape.

You want to do the engine too? 383
