It was Address time, so Barack Obama decided to go out to the local reservation to gather support from the Native Americans.

They were all assembled in the Council Hall to hear the speech.

Obama had worked up to his finale, and the crowd was getting more and more excited.

"I promise better education opportunities for Native Americans!"

The crowd went wild, shouting "Hoya! Hoya!"

Obama was a bit puzzled by the native word, but was encouraged by their enthusiasm.

"I promise gambling reforms to allow a Casino on the Reservation!"

"Hoya! Hoya!" cried the crowd, stomping their feet.

"I promise more social reforms and job opportunities for Native Americans!"

The crowd reached a frenzied pitch shouting "Hoya! Hoya! Hoya!"

After the speech, Obama was touring the Reservation, and saw a tremendous herd of cattle.

Wanting to show his interest, he asked the Chief if he could get closer to take a look at the cattle.

"Sure," the Chief said, "but be careful not to step in the hoya."

Even though I posted the above, don't assume I am anti-Obama. I believe the President has a tough battle at almost every turn. The political machine in this country is so slow it will take 25 years for anything he proposes to come about. Feet dragging, back door dealing, babble, babble, babble is all he'll get for the next two years. The recession was not of his making. The problems that plague this nation have little to do with government and everything to do with ethics of the private citizen or total lack thereof.

Looks like we live in the land of hoya.
Speech was kind of ho-hum, really.
I would rather have seen this.

As hard core republican as I am I still have to like the guy. He had a good upbeat speach and if words could turn to action then we might get somewhere. At least everyone is talking and sitting together......you gotta start somewhere.

I sincerely believe that it will all work.

I also sincerely believe that I'll hit the lottery tomorrow.

China loves our problems and politics. Our sputnik moment!
Chinese kids go to school 6 days a week, speak 2 or more languages, strong work ethic, homogenous society, strong in science......our kids make excuses way they can't succeed, 42% drop out rate, criminal back ground since 1st grade, can't read or write and really don't want to work. But then thats another issue! "parenting" or lack of.

Speech was kind of same old-same old. Now, if after the Sputnik moment, he would have said "and now I'm announcing a plan to send a man to Mars. After all, it's closer than Florida, you can see it from here...."

I don't see how they can let Fannie and Freddy, and the Fed's artificially low interest rates off the hook so easily.

Any factor that put people into homes they couldn't afford or build real equity in, was a major contributor. (Including the borrowers' lack of foresight).

How totally ironic that his speech writer used "Winning The Future" as a slogan.

Now we will remember the 2011 State of the Union address,

as the WTF speech!!!!

Are these people STUPID or WHAT?????
