Woodridge is next door to me. No comment on the intelligence of the driver, only a hearty "happy landings". The streets have been treacherous for a couple weeks now.

I call that FAIL. This is what happens when the a he-man Corvette owner turns off the ASR... cause he is too skilled to be bothered...

Hey, I am a realist, why not let the ASR do it's thing? ESPECIALLY in the snow!!!!!

But the ASR does not help him when he was already going to fast for conditions. Nor would AH.

He was obviously going to fast, hit ice, lost control, went over a curb, through a fence and finally stopped in a pool. I am shocked a pool cover has enough strength to support a car. Luckily he didn't take out the slide. The children would have been devastated.

LOL...it's funny you mentioned this article. Rick's shop is the one that stored it after the police tow. Rick saw it in person and said the damage wasn't too horrible, but it was totaled by insurance.

As far as someone being a crazy driver...I dunno. It was really slippery that day. If you look at the pictures, the pool is only about 20 feet off the street through an old wooden fence. Wouldn't take too much to go over the small curb and through it.

Yep actually it was towed to the other shop where my wife works, supposedly it was a women who owned it... basically lost control on some ice, she was able to get out of the car and off the ice before the C4 fell through.. The car didn't look too bad, but there was suspension damage on the passanger side rear, the rear muffler was bent up, and some cracks in the fiber glass, not to mention the obvious water inside ect.. I seen it when it was getting dark out so I'm sure there was more damage then the obvious..

If the rear suspension was damaged, then more than likely, the frame in the monocoque was damaged. Once you break that seal between SMC and steel, the car's value becomes junk.

I am wondering if the pool was iced over, and the ice was holding it up?
