I watched a news cast about Cpl. Buckles. At 100 plus he really had his act together. He knew exactly what was going on in the world around him. I should be so lucky.

In Montana where we lived there was a Last Man's club of WW1 vets which both my Grandfathers were in. There was a bottle of French Cognac brought over after the war that the last 5 were supposed to share. We knew the last survivor he lived to be almost 100 but he has been gone for awhile.
I don't think they ever opened it.

It will be awhile but the WWII vets are going fast now. Soon it will be the Viet Nam guys. Which would be our generation. Nuts! Get busy living or get busy dying.

You guys are all a little older than me but I always enjoy talking to the WWII guys then shutting up and listening. They are a natural resource that is truly going away.

Great comment! WWII generation didn't bitch about anything, they just wanted to work and build a better life for their families.
