Sorry if this is a dupe, I just saw it and it's a couple months old.

I don't claim to be a C6 expert, but sheesh. Know where the emergency door release handle is in your $125,000 car!

This very thing happened to a friend's wife after he passed away. She was sitting alone in his Z06 with no phone, in a closed garage and she shut the car door. When she was finished memorializing Bill, she tried to exit and was shocked to find herself locked in the car with no escape. The battery had died after sitting for so long without starting. However, she... unlike the guy above was much more intelligent and found the owners manual tucked somewhere inside the car. She read how to pull the emergency release and exited the car unscathed. Although she did say that it gave her a good scare and it took a while before it occurred to her to look for the Owners Manual. All along she was cussing her dead husband and thought that he did this to her for getting into the driver's seat of his new Z06!!

Note to self. Look for people who have trapped themselves in a newish ZR1 and make them a ridiculous offer.

Why, that's just terrible. Do you want me to take that safety trap off your hands before you kill yourself?

I remember the last time I locked myself in the car. Luckily the window was open so I could call my wife over to open it from the outside.

Two blondes were in a parking lot trying to unlock the door of their car with a coat hanger.

They tried and tried to get the door open, but they just couldn't! The blonde with the coat hanger stopped for a moment to catch her breath.

The other blonde said anxiously, "Hurry up! It's starting to rain and the top is down.

A blonde walked into a gas station and said to the manager, ”I locked my keys in my car. Do you have a coat hanger or something I can stick through the window to unlock the door?”
”Why sure,” said the manager, ”we have something that works especially well for that.”

A couple minutes later, the manager walked outside to see how the blonde was doing and he heard another voice. ”No, no! A little to the left,” said the other blonde inside the car.

Blonde guys ain't to bright, either:

Did you hear about the blonde guy who locked his keys in the car? Yea, it took him 2 hours to get his family out!

One time, my dad locked the keys to the car in the truck! I was apparently quite small, but my brother and my dad some how removed the back seat back, which gave little ole me the room to scurry into the trunk and get the keys from my dad's jacket. I assume from there, they opened the trunk and got me out. I really hope I got ice cream after.

If I have one I really should remove it to relieve a little weight.

While others show theirs off while standing next to their car wearing a helmet.

Don I have to ask, how did the get the door open if the battery was dead? The outside door handle is just as dead as the inside if the battery is gone.

The emergency pull in the rear compartment of the C6 is a mechanical release. It is found in the rear hatch area on the driver's side under the carpet. New cars it is usually hanging out so new owners see it. This also works from inside the vehicle. The owners manual also tells how to use the key to open the trunk from the outside if the battery is dead.
