thats way cool . . went to fontana last weekend. armed with my new rear end with 430 gears , switched headers off my 90(jeals instead of stainless works ) put a 3in x pipe in instead of the ladder crossover , also switched my plrnum and inj housing and plenum off the 90 that was way better ported and lastly disconnected the front sway bar for better weight transfer . my uncorrected best before was 12.10 @116.47mph . well i was a little unsure if i cold get the car to bite with the 430s. in my trials before going she felt really strong . i make a really good burn out stage take her to 3500 and drop the hammer and she really bit . went throug the gears and she went through the lights @6900 rpms . perfect i thought . pull up to the timing box to get my slip and . holly cow it read 11.51 @119.88 mph with a 1.61 60 ft . the lady says dont go any faster or you day is done . ok . drop the tire pressure to 17 from 19 . make my second pass and opps she says you went to fast without a roll bar your day is done. it read 11.41@120.41 mph with a 1.55 60 ft . i smiled at her and said no problem . you made my day . the look she gave me was priceless . drove home with this grin on my face like i just spent the evening with a playboy bunny . sorry its so long but i just had to share with you guys

Congrats, it's a great feeling.
I was banned from a Nascar track for 3 years for something similar.

It's amazing how much time can be shaved off the 1/4 in the first 60 ft! 1.5's are really, really good!! I'd love to get in the 1.5's consistently. Have you done any suspension mods, what tires, and how hard to you release the clutch at 3500 rpm's?

Congrats, sounded like a fun night!!

nah dont want to put a roll bar in . the car is too rare its a 92 475 callaway 475 supernatural that 1 of 16. my goal was 1150s out of a stk blk zr1. i am going to turn my atten to my 90zr1 and build a stroker motor for it and work with bill boudreau to put a solid axle in it so i can launch it as hard as i want without fear of scattering things all over the track.the callaway car has coilovers and a full heimjointed gulstrand rear suspension in it as well as one of randy woods setups that separate the dog bones wider to plant the car better .i also have one of randys soft shock clutches which helps a bunch . i developed a little trick to help launch the car.push the clutch all the way in at the line then put my hell of my shoe on the floor under the clutch and release it by pulling my toes back. that gives me a very controlled release which was the final piece to the 1.5 60 fts .also disconnecting the front sway bar uprights let the weight transfer a lot better. thanx alot for the kind words .
