Good Morning CGs!

Today should be a little more mild, high of around 82 with some rain. A little break from the heat again.

Went to our cousins' house last night for a little bbq party. A bunch of kids all together playing for one last hoorah before school starts. It was nice. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I cut out after about 2 hours so I could get home and get some road time in. Planned on 3 miles but pushed myself and did 4.05 in 34:52 which is 8:36 min/mi. Not record breaking by any means, but it's the first time I've done 4 miles in close to 2 years. I just haven't been training, so I can't complain. I'd like to work back up to 8 eventually, not sure if it will happen this year or not. Time is my biggest constraint nowadays.

How was everyone's weekend so far? Any good stories?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...Tommy stay out of the weather, sounds like it's headed your direction. I've got lots to do today. Working on a computer and then I need to go out to the shop and build a couple little things and then go hang a bunch of mirrors, cabinet vanities, toilet paper holders and window shades up at the school. Looks to be a busy day.

I hope you have a great one.

Greetings! It'll be another grueling day on the golf course, supposed to be low 80's and sunny. Hopefully that will describe the weather as well as my score and disposition when finished. My mom would approve - she would've been 93 today, and always enjoyed golf.

Hope everyone has a great day, and hunker down, Tommy!

There once was a guy named Matt...............nevermind.

I've been researching Black Oxide vs Black Phosphate vs Parkerizing...............all just to make some steel bolts black...what a pain.

I'm going to pull the C2 frame out into the sun and try to find how many places I screwed up.
I have some more brackets, gastank straps, etc. to repaint in the next couple days so I'll touch up the frame then.

For the second draw in a row, I hit 3 out of 6 SuperLoto numbers. The last 3 seem to be a bit tougher.

Howdy!
My plan for today is to stay indoors. My plan for tomorrow is watch it rain. My plan for Tuesday is to put everything back where it belongs. My plan for Wednesday is to start my routine all over again. As long as we don't see any tornados, everything should be just fine. Tropical storm force winds and heavy rain are in the forecast where I'm at. Good sleeping weather. We picked up a dozen movies from the pawn shop to watch if the satelite goes out. It's gonna be eat, watch tv, nap, eat, watch tv, nap, repeat.

It's nuts with all the internet opinions. And I don't see all that much difference.

If you go to a commercial plater, it's at least $25 per pound and the results aren't that much better.

All the methods require a sealer either oil based or satin clear.

Parkerizing is a hot method, kind of a pain but may hold up a bit better, about $25 for the solution and you still need degreasers, etc. Shooter Solutions.com.

I'll probably try Caswell's Black Oxide Kit - $45 for everything and more than enough for a complete car. It's supposed to be better than Eastwood's.

The zinc plating's worse, about $300 for the setup and is tricky. But just getting the front caliper brackets and front brake shields done is $75 plus shipping.

Getting the bumpers chromed is

My nap is over and so is the storm. I've already taken down the panels and opened up the shutters except for the patio. It's still a little breezy so I'll protect the bird cages a while longer. Dinner is made. I'll put out the yard stuff tomorrow. The talking heads made me laugh as usual. We'll have to see what develops. Isaac is supposed to get stronger over the gulf.

I was lookin' at the radar about an hour and a half ago, looked like it split over you, put a bit into Miami and the rest went to the south.

At least you got shutter practice out of it.

My nephews mother sent me a pic of him in my brothers old 88 vert. I hope he gets the fever that his father and I got. Until he can afford a C6 that is.

Done playing "Where's this bolt go?" for today.

Found another surprise box with rusty parts.

I had the frame outside in the sun, luckily the few touch ups can be done with a brush.

But I did look at the underside of the body - there's another 40 hours.

At least I'm not workin' on the house.

I believe that Newton's first law of motion is the reason we will emerge from our current economic woes. That law states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. How does that relate to the financial #$%*storm we're now cowering under? Allow me to explain. There are slightly less than seven billion people on this planet. Assuming that roughly half that number are either too young, too old, too lazy, or too loaded to work, that still leaves almost three and a half billion people getting up in the morning to chase the almighty dollar, the transcendent rupee, the zen yen,the dear ol' euro, the what's goin' on yuan, the... well, you get the idea. Now, call me crazy (and many have called me far worse), but I happen to think that three and a half billion motivated people is one big damn object in motion. And the only thing acting against that object is the friction caused by a small bunch of greedy, dumbass, screw-the-pooch, Ivy League pot stickers (the unbalanced force). I therefore assert that the unbalanced force (you know who you are, shame on you), will eventually be overwhelmed by the object in motion (three and a half billion people with pluck, aka pluckers), thus allowing the object in motion to continue its relentless journey forward, thriving and conniving until it is once again slowed down by other unbalanced forces, or a very large meteorite. Or a plague. Or fundamentalists with nukes. Or atmosphere-eating nanobots. Or a super volcano. Or Skynet. Or Cylons.

Glad to hear the storm mostly fizzled over you, Tommy. I shot an 81 today, best round I've had in a while. Could've been much better without too much imagination, but I'm fairly happy with it.
