Good Morning CGs,

Got up at 5:30 for some unknown reason and have the urge to go run. Why? I don't know. I haven't run in close to two weeks so I guess it's time. Had a light breakfast and ready to head out the door. It's cold out but I'm ready.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

Got a pretty good run in. 4.34 miles in 37:00 min....8:31 pace. Was about 56 degrees when I left so I had on all my cold weather gear including gloves and a headband....not right for early September! Still glad I got out and did it. I have an all day bachelor party later for my cousin's wedding. Going to an afternoon baseball game with a preparty there and then bbq at his place after. Should be fun.

You should drive there. You'll get there a lot faster. Plus, your former students will be less inclined to run you over if you are in a car vs on foot.

I always tell her, I'm wrong again. I'm always wrong. I couldn't possibly be right about anything. I keep my distance and my cool (as long as I can). As far as working my way out of trouble, nothing has worked in 29 years and I don't expect it to work now. I can't possibly live up to her expectations nor do I wish to. As long as there is a woman, there will always be someone trying to change a man. I've made all the concessions I care to make. That means conflict. Conflict means dog house. Guess who gives me the most conflict? Of course, the one who supposedly loves me. It's only a matter of time before we're at it again. She's hardwired to f@(% with me and I'm hardwired to let the pieces fall where they may. Let the games begin!

Now, the dinner went well and the steak and lobster came out perfect. Before and after dinner, we gambled. She was down before dinner and I was up. In the evening session, the slots were on a mission to take back what it gave me and more. Lots more. Wifey had a turn around at the card table and at her high point was over a grand ahead. She cashed out $500 ahead. Last time we went, I came out ahead and she lost money. We came out about $370 ahead for last night. Anything on the plus side is good.
I have stuff to do today. More than a days worth so I have to decide what stuff I want to get done and what will wait for another day. Up,up and awaaayyy!

Wellll good to see everything is normal here this morning.....We got in late after having an away game in a town about a 100 miles from here. The team we played are ranked no. 1 in our class. We are unranked. We just about beat them on their own turf. And they do have astro turf in thier new 2.5 mil dollar stadium. Anyway they were looking way past us but our guys played their hearts out and were 4 points down and driving when our sophmore QB who had played lights out all game threw a pick 6 and that was it. Best football I have seen from our school since the early 2000's. That was one of the toughest teams we face so I hope we can win a few. Ultraboy had a great rundown and sack that got everyone pumped up.

Today I must work some and then play some. It was very crisp out this am when I took the dog out. Felt like fall. I am looking forward to it.

Andy...Big Red is out in your country today to play UCLA...hope they win that. It will be on TV somewhere I'm thinking.

Have a great weekend Guru's........

Slept in, working my way through first cup of coffee, then it's time to hit the garage.

I'm still trying to figure out what a 64 Camaro looks like.....The LS3's of today are quicker then the 90 ZR-1 or even the 405 hp version. Back in the day though the ZR-1 was real fast.

All the horsepower and torque in the old big blocks and they just couldn't get it to the ground.

Hey guys....got into KC about 10:30 last night, then stayed up just to wind down. Got up this morning and went out and traded the wife's car off on a new (to us, 2009 model) Cadillac CTS. One of the least painful car deals I've run across. When they came in with the "deal" we were only $300 dollars off and when we finished I got them $600 to my side.

This evening we had a birthday party for "new" grandson (daughter is remarrying and he has 2 kids).

Tomorrow we must head back, been a real short weekend.

While at the Chevy/Caddy dealer wwe looked at a new 2013 427 roadster.....a mere $90K (eeekkkkk), nice but I can't see $90k in it. Several new GS's and even a base Corvette $50K.

Only the rich guys can buy a new car for 90 and 3 years later have it worth 55K......but I hope they keep buying them so there will be newer cars for the rest of us....safe journies tomorrow....

They asked me if I was interested in a new CTS....I told the salesman, "No, I'll let someone else take the big hit on the depreciation. Then I'll buy it when they have 25k miles for way less money." he just laughed and said I know what you mean. That Corvette would be even more so. Nice looking car, just not $90k worth of nice.

Not sure what they call it, but it is the same 6.2 supercharged engine as the Camaro. Basically a detuned ZR1.

From Edmunds.com

Current Cadillac CTS-V

The current Cadillac CTS-V is the high-performance version of the CTS sport sedan. While its predecessor certainly got your blood pumping, the new edition is like a defibrillator attached to Niagara Falls' hydroelectric plant. Under its angularly sculpted hood lives a detuned version of the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 found in the manic Corvette ZR1, which in the Cadillac produces 556 hp and 551 pound-feet of torque

Congrats on the new to you CTS tee. Nice cars. CTS-V is nice too. One reality I've come to. That's way more ponies than you'll ever get to use on the street.

A customer of ours asked where was the best place to sell his 67 Camaro SS convertible with a 350. I looked up some info for him. He's afraid to drive it. Too worried it will get scratched, so it sits in a temperature controlled garage. My wife told him to just drive the damned thing and enjoy it. She told him that if he sells it he'll never get another car like it.
