The new Z06 was the victim of an accidental data leak...

apparently a web page or something had data that shouldn't have been made public.

However we do now know the engine is putting out 620hp. From

From Autoweek:

I suspect 620hp with this chassis will make for a better car... the 18hp difference is nothing.

Seems to me there is a large gap between the Stingray power and the new Z06 power. The C6 had 436 vrs 505 vrs 638.....I don't think there will be a ZR1 anytime soon....

I doubt it, too.

I also suspect this is turbo vs supercharged. Superchargers have parasitic loss, which isn't cool when you want MPG numbers.

There is no real reason why this motor can't get near the same highway MPG as the stock Vette.

I will expect to see a GS version, the stock Vette with the ZO6 wide body package... That's what I am looking forward to seeing.

A new GS would be very cool.....but have my doubts as to being out very soon. The C6 GS was in my estimation a marketing deal put together out of stuff they had in the bin to try and move C6's during the down time and as the C6's got to the end of days. It did work and they sold a lot of them over the base model. The Stingray is the new GS in my opinion. If they do bring one it will be late in the C7 production run....I'm thinking.

I am betting a cold N/A beer that they will stick with supercharging because they have all the vendors at hand and have had success with the one on the LS9.......is the bet on?

well... considering my track record on the forced induction... I don't think the GS was a result of parts left over.

Having been to the various ALMS events over the last several years, there has always been questions about a base C6 with the Z06 body kit. They sold a lot because there was a genuine demand for it.

I am willing the bet the curves on on the new Zo6 outshine those of the old ZR1. DI does that well.

If a ZR1 is possible it will either need a bigger blower or switch it up and have a factory turbo. Hoping for the latter.
