Good morning gang.

We had a nice little snow shower yesterday that dropped 3" of snow. Today will be mostly cloudy and temps fall all day to around single digits by time work is done.

Let's get going shall we.

Word of the Day Monday, November 17, 2014

rufescent \ roo-FES-uhnt \, adjective;

1. somewhat reddish; tinged with red; rufous.

Origin:

Rufescent was mostly used in zoological descriptions when it entered English in the early 1800s. Its Latin precursor rūfēscent was formed from the Latin term for "red" or "reddish," rūfus , the inchoative element -ēsc-.

Today is NATIONAL BAKLAVA DAY

Each year on November 17, lovers of the rich sweet pastry that is made with layers of filo pastry and filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey celebrate National Baklava Day.

Believed to have originated by the Turkic people in Central Asian nations, Baklava is a dessert in many countries and prepared in various ways. The word “Baklava” first appeared in English in 1650.

Preparing this dessert may be somewhat time-consuming however, it is definitely worth the work and the wait.

To celebrate National Baklava Day, try your baking skills with the following “tried and true: Baklava recipe:

NATIONAL BAKLAVA DAY

Within our research, we were unable to find the creator of National Baklava Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

Habari za asubuhi!

The truck thermometer read a balmy 6 this morning. Tomorrow it might read 0. It's supposed to be in the 40's this time of year. Last winter seemed long, this one will be ridiculous.

Hunker down, Gurus!

Morning guys...My thermometer only said 7 this morning, Brad. It's cold. Last full week before T-giving, and it's broken up with the start of MS basketball. My #2 GS is on the team and that means we start travelling to watch him play.

Good Morning CGs!

I've been MIA the past couple of days, busy with work and family. Off today so there is always something to do. Got the kids up and off to school then started cleaning and putzing around the house. I got the clear window film put up in the both the kids' rooms so that should help with the drafts and coldness in the room. I should do it in our room, as well, but I was too lazy. I still have to vacuum, clean the bathrooms, and finish picking up. Then I might attempt to tackle the garage and basement. But I don't want to be too ambitious

Mike - I love baklava, but you can't eat too much it's so heavy and rich.

TB - I've seen some of the woodworking and cabinet projects on FB lately, they look great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Thanks Matt. I have been busy and have lots to do before next Wednesday. We would normally leave after school on Tuesday, but I really don't want to pull a trailer after dark. Marcus, you going to be able to meet in Salina Wednesday morning? I'm guessing around noonish.

Changed the clutch fluid today Marcus. It looked like crap!. I didn't really know what it was supposed to look like and never really looked at the slave cylinder before. I'm certainly glad you told me to do that.
