2014 Memorial Day Car Show Winner! Lakin, Kansas 67860 12382 Posts Member since: 2005/9/16 0:00	Dreary, cloudy, and cool this morning. Rosie is up and headed for a wedding shower for her nephew's fiance. I'm here at home waiting for a former teaching colleague to bring her pickup by so I can install a tonneau cover on for her. Her husband passed away a few years back, so I get called to due maintenance things for her occasionally. Hopefully, it won't take too long, as I really need to get back to stripping the rest of the frames of the old finish that didn't dry (see yesterday's post).

Showed them around a bit and when the kids got home we all went out for Chicago deep dish pizza and some ice cream. Can't visit Chicago without deep dish! Had some good conversation about various topics. After about 8 hours of speaking broken German, it was starting to come back much better. I bet with a few more days of practice I would be much more comfortable. But between English, German, and a little Polish we all got our points across 😃 Today we have a party for RR#1 since we couldn't celebrate during the week. Hope everyone has a great day! Matthew

Waiting for Rosie to return with the catalyst and maybe try again. The sun broke through and it has warmed up considerably, enough so that I was having trouble keeping the frames wet with the lacquer thinner to get it to break the finish down before it evaporated. So moved into the shelter of the overhead door on the shop.

2014 Memorial Day Car Show Winner! Lakin, Kansas 67860 12382 Posts Member since: 2005/9/16 0:00	Number 1 GS called to tell me the Cadillac is now his. He says it is everything I thought it was. Well, that remains to be seen, until I see it for myself, but he's is thrilled. He and his GF will be bringing it back next weekend so we can get it inspected then tagged. They will also bring back his old car, which I will work on to let GS #2 use to drive next year.
