Jonecap and I went to the track today and I had a couple new bests. I was pretty excited about the new times, my combo is:

1991 ZF6
1.6 Roller rockers
Longtubes
Magnaflow cat back
Custom dyno tune by Fearless Performance
4.10 gears
Centerforce clutch
ET streets
Fearless Performance nitrous system

My old best on motor was 13.0 @ 106. With the new clutch I was able to launch a bit harder and arrived at:

1.807
8.251 @ 86.54
12.894 @ 103.53

As far as I know, this is the fastest unmodified, non power adder, TPI intake car there is.

I opened the bottle and hit the car on one pass with a 100 shot and netted:

1.747
7.696 @ 93.60
11.992 @ 112.42

Woot! 11 second pass!

I was down about 3 MPH from my previous best on motor, so with some better track conditions the car should go faster.

Anyway, I gotta go, but I'm PUMPED!

BTW, Jonecap went 11.77 @ 117 with his LT4. His car is:

1996 LT4, ZF6
Hotcam
longtubes
4.10's
ET streets
Electric water pump
Fearless Performance dyno tune

He also picked up the front wheels on that pass. I have it on video, I'll post it later.

Nice job, especially with the ZF6!

You consider 1.6 Roller rockers, Longtubes, Magnaflow cat back, Custom dyno tune by Fearless Performance, 4.10 gears, and ET streets to be unmodified?

I mean that the stock TPI intake is untouched. Not ported, nothing.

Thanks for the compliments!

You can't make an engine run like that with the stock TPI. Have you not been reading the forums?

I'd say that both you and Jonecap have your combinations performing very well.

I was wondering how you go a TPI to go that fast. They run 14s-15s stock. Did it go that fast because your using nitrous or?

When I first got the car it ran a 13.9 at 100-101. With the driver mod, I got it down to 13.6 or so. I finally took the time to properly tune the car on a dyno, worked on my driving some more, and ran a 13.0 @ 106. No nitrous, still NA at that point.

The only change I've made since the 13.0 @ 106 pass is the clutch. I was using a McLeod twin disk and I swapped it out for a dual friction Center Force. The Center Force hits MUCH softer than the McLeod and let me hit the tires harder without breaking anything in the rear end.

Today was my first time out with the new clutch, and after a few runs, and knocking down a 12.8XXX I was comfortable enough with the launch to try spraying it. I only made one pass on the bottle, the 11.992.

With some more seat time I should be able to go a little faster than the 11.99 on a 100 shot. I'll eventually hit the car with a 150 shot and see what it does.

I'd really like to get the car to 60 foot a bit better. A mid 1.6 would turn my 11.99 into an 11.75 or so.

The TPI thing and 4.10's does kinda suck. I shift into 5th at about the 800 foot mark, so I know that's hurting me some. The car sure is fun to drive though.

O. Your car is newer than mine and you have a stick. I saw mine was running 15s stock but it might have been bad info. The Lowes Motor speedway strip is suppose to open this fall, are you going to race at it? I can't wait to see what it looks like. It should be really nice.

Great times!! Congrats! With all the mods in my sig I'm hoping to turn low 11's this year. My driver mod will be easier than yours as I'm running an auto and 3.07 gears. A TPI, 6 spd and your gears must really be a bear in 1st gear. Do you get any spin or is it dead hooking for you? Do you launch with the nitrous or wait till a sec. after launch to hit the switch?

That's a bit of a haul for me, but I'll probably make it out there once or twice.
