it's cold this morning and they are predicting "S" showers. Not looking forward to that at all. Today is #3s birthday. My youngest is 36, hard to believe. Happy birthday to her today.

I'll go vote today. Not much to vote for, School Board and city council. Do a bit of work in the shop today. I bought a new cutterhead for my planer. Cost almost as much as the planer did when I bought it, but should give me a smoother cut and save em time in the sharpening dept. It's such a pain now, that I put it off way longer than I should. It's a four to five hour procedure now. After the swap I should be able to change in about 20 minutes and the blades should last longer as the new blades are tungsten carbide. The swap, they say, should take about 4 hours. I'm figuring all day just to be on the safe side. If it all plays out the way it should, I may replace the head on my jointer. That WILL cost me more than the machine initially cost me, but again the same benefits.

Better get to it. have a great day out there.

MAKES YOU FEEL OLD, DON'T IT? MY YOUNGEST IS 34, THE OLDEST 50---

SPEAKING OF WORDS NO LONGER HEARD, I MISS "D'RECKLY" (STANDARD ENGLISH: DIRECTLY) A MUCH USED EXPRESSION OF MY GRANDPARENTS GENERATION. AS IN: "WHEN WILL THAT PIE BE COOL ENOUGH TO EAT, MOMMA?" "D'RECKLY"

D'RECKLY ALWAYS TOOK A WHILE :-)

DRIZZLED RAIN ALL DAY YESTERDAY, JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE A MESS AND IT'S STILL CLOUDY THIS MORNING, 55 WHEN I GOT UP, DOUBT IT WILL WARM UP MUCH WITH ALL THESE CLOUDS. ANOTHER TWO NAP DAY, I EXPECT.

AND THERE'S ANOTHER OBSOLETE PHRASE: "I 'SPECT"

Greetings! Gloomy, chilly and busy here, a good day to be indoors. There are rumors of an appearance by the sun later, we'll see.

Happy Birthday to #3, Tom!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Dreckly is still a word at my house. As are winders.
I see that some of you must be freezing your hineys off by the S and F bombs I see being dropped in here tho. I'd like to see a winter where we have none of it. However, it's done nothing here but be dreary, ugly and rain. I'm sick of it. It's affecting my chi.
Tiem for more coffee.

Had a delivery to a 2 day job Sue has . I'm batchin tonight. Sue and the crew are staying in the guest rooms at the house they're working at. It's around Mile Marker 60 on US 1. That means 60 miles from Key West. The eye of the hurricane came in about 25 miles south of there. Multi million dollar homes on Duck Key. The neighbor said he needed to talk with Sue when she had a chance. Whenever somebody talks with Sue it usually involves a landscape or plants. We don't advertise. It's all by word of mouth, seeing her work or the 5 star rating the Nursery has on Yelp.
I came home, took a 2 hour nap after the 5 hour round trip ride. Got up and mowed the grass here at the house. Fed all the critters and now it's time to chill. Nice temp outside. Comfortable. 2 cruises to look forward to and there are many free ones for us to choose from. We can't afford to take advantage of all of them. There are just too many opportunities. Need time between cruises to build a nice war chest for the casino. Of the past 5 cruises we came home ahead on three and spent the whole gambling budget on two. Overall we are even or slightly ahead. We get the offers because we gamble. Sue gets better offers because she gambles more. Took Sue's mom and dad on this last one. Sue taught her 80 y/o mother how to play 3 card poker. They want to go on another one with us. All the family wants to go on one with us but many can't get away when we go. My mother wants to go again but I think she's getting a little frail at 91. I don't know. Maybe we'll take her and her boyfriend one more time. Long one today. I always have a lot going on. I could write for days. lol

Late night entry.

Sue bought 3 bags of candy for Halloween. We brought 1 with us on the cruise and two were left at home. Sonny-boy says there were no trick or treaters this year. That leaves two bags of candy. I'm working on them one piece at a time.

Well, I got the cutter head swapped today. Took me a little longer than the instructions indicated. Had to make a couple trips to the parts store. After getting it all done I started it up and the first thing I notice is it runs so much more quiet. That was one of the things it was supposed to do. Then I find it cuts smoother than a babys' bottom. and extremely quiet during the cut. I am MORE than satisfied with the change. Enough so, that I am thinking about ordering one for my jointer. I had planned on doing it next year, but the success of the planer swap, makes me want to push that up to ASAP. The cuts made on really tough wood is unbelievable.

A friend of mine, a Viet Nam veteran, just got back from a trip with other vets to Washington DC. Here in Kansas, we have a group called "Kansas Honor Flight", where they take Vets from WWII, Korea and now Viet Nam to Washington DC, all expenses paid. They visit the different memorials and they are treated to banquets and other things as well. I asked him how to get my FIL (Korean War vet) on one. He doesn't want to go alone, so I may be able to go as a "Guardian". Now it's a matter of convincing him. Next trips are in April.
