68 AND SUNNY THIS MORNING, 90 THIS AFTERNOON. JUST BARELY SUMMER---

YESTERDAY I MANAGED TO GET NOTHING DONE BUT SPOT-CLEAN THE BUMBLEBEE :-( SO TODAY I'LL TRY AGAIN ON THE ERRANDS. NICE DAY FOR A DRIVE, ANYWAY.

AND IN THE NEWS:
CHRIS CHRISTIE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT; DO WE REALLY NEED A PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE FAT BOY IN THE WHITE HOUSE?

KEEP UP THE FIRE, AMIGOS.

The Pacific theatre was a totally different animal. Fighting on islands creating massive casulties to gain a hilltop. And as GRIS brought up, the battles for control of the seas. Of course there were times when some could lay around on deck, smoking cigarettes and playing cards. GRIS were you a banker/lender back in your day? That's where all the action was.

He could get elected if he ran on a platform of discount pizza coupons for everyone.

good morning, another pretty day here today, no chance of rain in sight, we desperately need it.
got a few more things done at home to get ready for our 2 day trip. I hate coming home to a house I need to clean so I try to do everything ahead. We'll be leaving with the Vette club in the morning headed to the Corvette Plant and Museum. Already been into it with the hotel people. I looked them up online to find their phone number to see if they could email me my reservation info since I've lost it, and then while looking it over noticed their online price for my room (that was allegedly group discounted) is $28 more per night than the online price. Tried to fix it yesterday and the man pissed me off, kept saying that room "wasn't available". Availability is irrelevant the pricing is my issue. I have a discount yet mine is more than what normal price you have posted. wtf. Over it -

I like to call the motel and book with them personally ...... unfortunately that is a thing of the past with nationwide booking the thing now... I do try to stay away from the expedia's and so forth and book with the hotel chain itself... but I want the cheaper price....

sounds like a fun trip coming up VB.... I want to go back one of these days.... maybe pick up that new C8 from the museum....

I'm in charge of the steak feed tonight so better think about buying some beef..... shuffle on Guru's

I did book direct, we were told to and ask for the museum discount for the club. I just feel scammed.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Weather cooled off a bit, much more enjoyable than 90*. Pool liner still isn't fixed, we're waiting for the guy to fit us in. I'm half tempted to do it myself but I've never done one. It's halfway there already.

I did get the hydraulic cylinder for the four post lift rebuilt over the weekend. It was a bit of a nuisance and a learning curve but it wasn't terribly difficult. I could do it again in about an hour and a half now.

Still eating the Corvette to be tuned. Hopefully this week.

Hope everyone has a great day!

LAND COMBAT WAS A MATTER OF SCALE. THE PACIFIC WAS A WAR OF DIVISIONS; EUROPE A WAR OF ARMY GROUPS. THE PACIFIC WAS THE NAVY'S WAR SIMPLY BECAUSE THE THEATER WAS MOSTLY WATER.
TO WIN YOU HAD TO CONTROL THE SEA

GRIS were you a banker/lender back in your day? That's where all the action was.

WHAT EVER GAVE YOU THAT IDEA? LOL, THE ONLY LENDING I'VE DONE IS TO MY KIDS. I WAS AN ARMOR OFFICER AND A COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST FOR THE VA.

THERE WAS A GOOD BIT OF ACTION IN SE ASIA "BACK IN MY DAY".

When it comes to war history I would never claim to know more than a simple knowledge of it's existence. I know from every indication that you are a learned man and history buff and I yield to your expertise, GRIS. Salute.
