They said on the news today that the average cost to fill up a 18 wheeler $1188.00 that's unbelievable.

Yup the company I work for just raised the limit on our fueling credit card to $1200 per fill up. Glad I don't have to pay that bill.

With yesterdays price increase at the pump here gas is now at
just under $1.13 a liter. Thats $4.52 an Imperial gallon.

Add another .10 a liter for 91 octane for the Vette and we are
at $4.92 a gallon. Gonna be an expensive summer to drive the Vette.

Canadian dollars are about 97.5 cents, and imperial gallons are 1.2 U.S. gallons.

So your $4.52/gal is equivalent to $3.67/gal here.

Regular here is about $3.50-$3.75/gal. Premium is just under $4 and diesel is over $4. But California is about 20 cents higher than the rest of the country, partly because they the gas is cut with the maximum percentage of ethanol (which costs them more to produce), and you lose about 5% of your gas mileage.

No gas at the local station by my home.
It was $3.39 yesterday. $3.49 and $3.59 for 89 and 91 octane.

The signs are blank today.

(They're replacing the in-ground tanks. The place is out of commission for a week)

In this region, all gas contains 10% ethanol. Federal regulation, due to smog. (Mainly from Indiana's steel mills in Gary, and Chicago)

I've seen some stations with digital signs. I guess they got sick of changing them by hand every day!

Anybody remember back when gas first passed the $1.00 mark?

Some of the older pumps of the time wouldn't display 3 digits, so they set the pump price to 1/2 of what it really was.
Then they had a sign on the pump reminding you that you owed double what the pump actually read.

And at the time, I thought $10 for a fill up was going to send me to the poorhouse.

I REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS 16 CENTS A GALLON AND WHEN THERE WAS A GAS WAR IT DROPPED TO 11-12 CENTS A GAL

$3.19 / gal to fill up the Tahoe today......oh well, there goes another $68 bucks

Yep, its gonna be an expensive summer to move the Vette around, then again, I have the luxury of leaving it parked if I want to, but it still sucks.

Could be worse, you could be driving a sub-compact instead of a vette.
