Good morning, Gurus! I think I've managed to free up my schedule a bit for 2015, so I'm hoping to be out here more to chat!

Yay for whipped cream. I think I need to make some hot chocolate now.

I don't recall ever showing up for work when we were closed, but I did accidentally book plane tickets and hotel, and went on a business trip a day early. I had also arranged for travel for my boss, and was wondering why I didn't see him on the flight. When I got to my destination and waited around in the terminal, and he wasn't there, I finally called the office, and they were like, uhhhh, that's tomorrow. D'oh!

Good morning! I just wanted to pop in and say HI. I think of you all often, and how I should at least come in with a greeting. So here I am! Have a great Monday!

I'm off to a networking coffee session at Panera, then pick up some special food for GabbyCat, and then checking out a commercial kitchen that I might rent to expand my baking business. It's not that close to home, and I'd really rather have my own kitchen, but I at least wanna see it.

Okay, so I just reread the article, and they used performance records, not new subjects. I guess there goes my cognitive ability of reading comprehension. Bummer.

Good morning, Gurus!

Snow? That's crazy. Today looks to be a little cooler since we're starting with some morning marine layer. The last couple days have been in the high 70s.

I've been here, but lurking. Been out and about running errands, ingredient shopping, and gladly finding a new cookie scoop since my other one finally broke.

My conference call that was set for this morning has been cancelled, which also means the time I had set aside for afterwards to write up the meeting notes has cleared up - now what to do with my time? =)

Mornin'!

Looks to be another beautiful day in the neighborhood. High 70s. Gotta catch up on some desk work today, and hopefully have time to run some errands, if not, the errands will be tomorrow. I've got to find a new 100 scoop!

Greetings, Guru!

Saw that picture of Gris' snake - craziness!

Just chillin' at the shop. It's kinda slow, kinda warm, but I brought a little work with me, and got that finished up.

Happy Friday!

Good morning! Looks to be another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Heading up to the valley today to pick up some ingredients, and while we're in that part of town, I'm taking my mom to a bbq restaurant for lunch that she hears is pretty good. Looking at the menu, it looks to be bbq as well as a little southern soul, too. Sounds tasty!

Good morning, Gurus! It's only 8:15a for me, and there's already so much convo here! Sounds like everyone is in a good mood!

Supposed to be 85* today. I think I'm gonna run a few errands today before or after my conference call which is smack dab in the middle of the day. I need to figure out breakfast first.

Good morning - and it's actually still more morning for most of you, too!

Monday is catch up day since I'm at my shop all weekend.

Letty - I think that's good planning on her part. My mom told me AGES ago what she wants. Haven't shopped for anything yet, but at least we know the plan.

I didn't realize so many of you weren't on Facebook. I guess you're not seeing the video links that I've been posting there. I'll have to add them to the video library here.

Greeetings Gurus!

Everything's finally settled for the morning, and I get a chance to pop online between customers. One of the staff here said it was supposed to be 90* today - that can't be right. I know it's supposed to warm up, but that's insane.

One of the other vendors here who I've become friends with, told me some horrible news. The little brother of her daughter's best friend was murdered. They found his body in a suitcase about 40 or 50 miles north of here. Craziness. I had seen the article in the paper before she told me, so I knew the exact story she was talking about but had no connecton to it. So sad.

Good afternoon, Gurus! Greetings from my Crafted shop! It's been a busy and crazy morning already, but kinda slow in sales, HOpefully things will pick up in the afternoon.

That bacon costume was real, wasn;t it - not a photochop? LOL!

Some of those pics were scary.

While baking yesterday, I was watching Mysteries at the Museum (love this show), and they talked about thr blue people of Kentucky. Wow - I had never heard about that before! Have you? I'm on my iPad so not very good at pasting links, otherwise I'd try to find something about it.

I sell at a placed called CRAFTED, a permanent handmade marketplace, and it is only open on the weekends (Fri, Sat & Sun) from 11a-6p with some extended hours or days for holidays and special events. It's located in San Pedro at the LA Waterfront where there are other things to do like visiting Ports O'Call, USS IOWA, SS Lane Victory, Maritime Museum, etc.

I also do a few shows (craft fairs/boutiques/etc) now and then. It's a new business, so still trying to figure out more venues.

Greetings, Gurus!

Today is baking day for my shop tomorrow. You've seen some of the pics, but here's my typical weekend's offerings. I made my usual items (these are items that I've learned are very popular)- Banana Cake, Butter Cake, Lemon Pound Cake, Fudgy Chocolate Cake, and I added Kahlua Cake this week.

A Green Olive Bread (I change the flavor each week).

Chocolate Chip Biscotti (I change the flavor of biscotti each week, too; this is my first week of doing this flavor).

Flourless PB Choc Chip Cookies GF, Cranberry Lemon Cookies V, Coconut Lime Cookies V, Chocolate Chip Cookies V, Coconut Cookies GF, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies NSA, and Choc Chip Walnut Cookies NSA.

I change fudge flavors each week also - this week it's Chipotle Fudge and Almond Fudge (new this week).

I also did some Glazed Pecans - haven't made nuts in a long time, but was getting some requests to do it again.

I still need to finish packaging, but thought I'd take a little break! Weather's lovely here - not like some of the craziness that you all are facing!

The family that owns King's Hawaiian also owns a restaurant/bakery in Torrance, and I worked in the bakery when I was in college.

If you're driving on the 405 freeway (or in the area) at just the right time, you can smell the rolls and bread baking at the factory! They also now have a second small restaurant location right next to the factory in Gardena.

Good morning, Gurus!

Has anyone tried a bacon bowl yet? I want to get it try it once, just to see, but otherwise it looks super ridiculous!

That squirrel vid was beautiful, and intense.

I think I'll be at my desk or in my office most of the day trying to catch up on many many things.

Here's another 'look book' photo of some cookies presented for service. I've got some Coffee Cookies, Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and my version of Chinese Almond Cookies here.

Good afternoon!

Lovely living room, Matt!

Last year, traffic was stopped both ways on the 110 in the early afternoon - very strange time of day to have traffic on the freeway. Then I saw what it was - a CHP officer was clearing several tumbleweeds that big from the freeway! They were as tall as he was!

Good evening! Still Friday here! Just wanted to pop in to say hello! Thursday is baking day, and Friday my shop opens. I usually have mellow evening, but I had to do some more baking tonight for a special private event at the marketplace tomorrow. Tonight was Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, Mor Mor (a quad beer) Chocolate Cake, and Malbec Chocolate Cake.

Good morning, Gurus! Well, it's still barely morning here, anyways! =)

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Best wishes, Andy! When I finished chemo (a much milder course that what's used for cancer, but still the same process and location), all the nurses came around to wish me Happy Graduation! So here's looking forward to your Graduation Day.

LOL in an I'm sorry kind of way re the mailbox - it must have been quite the sight. We did kitty meds this morning - she's on a two-a-day regimen now, and I'm getting better at it! Either that or she's more resigned to it. Either way, there's less caterwauling.

Hey teebee! Hey Matt!

Flipping channels - found a show on History Channel called No Man's Land - about different people/activities that take place in the harsh southwestern desert. Well, there's this one guy who wants to live off the land, etc, etc, and he went hunting for grasshoppers. He figured he needed 20 of the buggers for dinner. I think he expended more energy 'hunting' for them, but anyways. He gets back to his rock overhang to get his fire started and grill the grasshoppers. As he has them on a skewer he comments that when they're perfectly grilled they have a nice pink color like shrimp. And as he's eating the first one, he goes off on some existential amazingness of eating grasshoppers and how delicious they are and how you feel so connected to how things should be and on and on. I'll take his word for it.

We tried using the rotisserie attachment on our grill last night for the first time. We did two whole chickens - and it was outstanding! I made some Klondike Gold mashed potatoes, veggies, and gravy. Delish!
