Hey Gurus!
I met another Guru today! An actual Corvette Guru! 81c3. Helluva guy, and his wife is a Vette head too! I don't need to remind you all that there is a shortage of good people in this world. I met two of them today. Very cool. A coupla photos of how a garage ought to look! (I hope you don't mind me sharing these, John)   Needless to say, I had a great time, and most likely overstayed my welcome... Thanks Mr. and Mrs. 81c3! You guys rock!  And now I don't feel like so much of a geek, with my toy Corvette collection.  John's ZR1 is so clean, you could eat off of it. Compared to his car, my Ruby looks like somebody DID eat off of it. :sad5: I'll get better, I PROMISE!  |

Couldnt agree more!! Chris, it was great to finally chat in person.
Time flew pretty quikly and we really just took the day to get to know one another. We accomplished a couple of tasks, checked for codes in Chris' car....none to be found. Looked over & under the car, checking for any ailements.....none to really speak of! All in all, Chris' car gets a clean bill of health....from me anyway! Lets see....ahhh, we did succeed in putting away almost 2 large Little Ceasars X-cheese pizzas!! Speaking of good people....Chris showed up bearing gifts! He gave my wife an AMT dealer promo Ruby model....and me a set of (new) Lloyd floor mats, cargo matt & dash matt. Thats a kind gesture to a perfect stranger, (before today). Thank you very much Chris. Next time you come over, we'll tackle that short throw shifter job....I'll be more prepared this time! Thanks for visiting & I think weve each made a new friend today....see ya soon. Chris'car looked outstanding with the Z06 wheels on it! I think those might be the only photos of me that exist where I was smiling for real!
I normally avoid cameras, and despite being a fairly nice guy, I usually throw a bird when I see someone pointing a camera in my direction, so they can't use the photo. I'm a prick like that..... Mostly I'm uncomfortable with my weight, so I stay behind the camera. But I know Mrs. 81c3 takes great photos, so I fought the urge.   John mentioned that I gave him floor mats, but did not mention that the color match is so bad, that they are not really useable. I don't know what was going on at Lloyds that day. Musta been dyed on a Friday, after a company party involving alcohol.  But they would make exceptional garage floor mats for catching drips. Perhaps they would make interesting abstract wall art, or maybe you can put them up on ebay and get something for 'em!  |
