yeah, pretty cool. I missed a lot of it, due to the Steelers. What I saw was incredible. Could go a long way in improving the country's image.

I dont think anything will improve their image. Look at the amount of pollution over there. They forced people to stop driving so the pollution would clear up alittle bit just for the Olympics. Prez Bush hit the nail on the head when he made his comments about the people of china. Anyway, moving away from all that it should be a neat Olympics.

I didn't see it. What kind of PR bullshit were the reds trying to spin? Nothing but a complete change of government will ever convince me that their concern for human rights have ever progressed beyond the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Did you know they evicted all kinds of people with little or no compensation along the torch route just so they could tare down the buildings in an attempt to beautify their city....I often wonder how much money changed hands between the upper echelons of the regime and the head of the IOC...and yes I am a pissed off Torontonian we should have got the bid *jk*

Funny, I thought this was suppose to be about the athletes.

Well the beach Volleyball game was great if it makes you feel better.

EDIT:
There's a good schedule, zip code specific

No reason to, no one else here does. I just try to be somewhat diplomatic when stating mine and also to not make it personal.

I thought it was the best Olympic opening ceremony evar. When you have 1.3 billion people you have lots and lots of people with plenty of time on their hands. They do have plenty of history.

I wish I'd seen it then. And there's no doubt that I love the people, the culture and the history. I only despise the politics of the current regime. And my heart goes out to the majority of them who have yet to reap any benefit from their current economic boom.

I was getting very irritated at all the political "tidbits" by the announcers.

They're zooming in on these athletes and then talking about political actions in their countries. Meanwhile all that athlete is thinking about is "damn this is awesome, and i need to get ready for my backstroke competition." There was some unnecessary pity/condescention of some of the poorer countries too.

I could stand to not hear another opinion from the broadcasters. Focus on the sports!
