Dealers to start taking 2010 Chevrolet Camaro orders next month
Quote:
Earlier this morning we saw the first official image of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The image wasn’t accompanied by any press release but Terry Rhadigan, a Chevy spokesman, told InsideLine some interesting tidbits earlier today.

Rhadigan said that the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 and the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS will both be available to order starting October. That’s a bit early considering production won’t start until mid-February of next year and deliveries won’t begin until mid-March. Rhadhigan said that interested buyers may have to put down a depoist to get in line for the Camaro but that is totally up to the dealers.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 is powered by a 3.6 liter V6 unit producing 300-hp and returning an estimated 26mpg. Rhadigan says that the 422-hp Camaro SS will return an estimated 23mpg. Pricing is expected start in the low $20k for the V6 model while the Camaro SS could hit over $30k.

A neat car for sure. 300hp for the 6 cylinder... Nice.

Although I feel like the car has been out for ten years now...

Not for that. I saw one in person, and this is one case where the car looks better in pictures than in person.

And another case of GM being behind the curve.

I hope the Challenger looks as good as it does in pix. I like that better than the Camaro anyway.

And I'd be totally cool with a Plum Crazy Purple one, or Curioius Yellow (Or whatever they call that hideous green color that I like for some strange reason)

I finally saw a Challenger blast by the house the other day. Black, polished wheels, looked good in person. Didnt know if it had stock exhaust or a catback but was loud. He was getting it!

I saw a couple challengers at the local dodge dealer. They were on the showroom floor but both had big SOLD stickers on them. Looked pretty slick. I'd like to see the camaro in person. 300 hp V6 sounds pretty interesting.

Personally, when I finally saw a Challenger (besides in pictures) I thought it looked awful. Too tall, sides too flat and oversized, crappy donk-looking wheels. I hope the Camaro looks better in the flesh.

It does look that good.

I saw one on the back of a car hauler 2 months ago and followed it for awhile, I have pictures somewhere.

I have yet to see one otherwise, which is surprising considering how many rich people live down here that are willing to pay big bucks over msrp.

Local stealership is asking 71k for an orange Challenger. I laughed and left.

71k? F that!

I did read that the first run Hemi cars were very limited in number, but come on!

Can't someone build a reasonably fuel efficient, RWD V8 with a stick shift for twenty grand?

I love my C4!

I wonder how bad the first Camaro buyers are gonna get dinged for the privledge of being first?

Nope.

Mustang GT for 25K, Pontiac G8 for 28K, everything else is over 30.

I would love a nice V8 with a stick. I think the first ones out the door are going to cost alot. Too bad I did not win the transformers give-a-way

Well, 28K for a stripped-down 420hp V8 isn't that bad. Of course, it'll be awhile before they hit msrp. And of course you'd have to special order it, because dealers always order ones with the heated seats and climate control and other unnecessary garbage.

A stripper plain-jane type Camaro would be sweet. 6 spd, gears, no CC, power heated seats/mirrrs, NAV, any of that.
Just a good running V8 and a six speed. Be all over that like a fat girl on a pork chop.
Toss those 20" wheels in the trash, too.

That's what I'm talkin' about!

I'll even roll down my own windows, and they can keep the stereo. I guess I'd still want A/C, but that's about it.
