Hi all,
Just bought an 86 C4 and look forward to making it go faster. I am new to computer controlled engines so I expect to use the site alot. Plenty of experience on carbs and older GM engines. Love muscle cars so I can't wait to see what I can do with this vette.

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Plenty of knowledge here! I don't have any, but someone here can answer just about any question you might have.

I suspect you will enjoy the handling characteristics of the C4. Hopefully it treats you well!

All RIGHT!! Welcome! Beware of Bogus, he knows too much and is very powerful. It is rumored that he can start engines just by THINKING of turning the key!

I like your arsenal! Have any pics? There's a feature where you can upload pics from your harddrive.

Me on the other hand, I'm new to carbs. When I'm not on my bike, I'm in my '69 Chevy stepside, 350/700R.

Welcome to the board! Looks like a great bunch of cars you've got there in your sig. Be prepared to experience some amazing handling in the vette, though, that will spank those old muscle cars! Post of some of your pics in the "other vehicles" section - all of us are pretty much die hard car guys and appreciate them all.

Thanks for the warm welcome! My 1st vette was a 66 convertible 327/300 4spd back in 74 it was my daily driver for 5 years. Had a 79 I got cheap and had Rousch do the 350 plus lots of suspension, paint etc. Sold that 6 years ago. The C4 came about awful cheap so I could not say no. It stalls at lights and is a bit rough around the edges. Think it has a couple of leaking injectors. Anyway the knowledge base here should help me get her back to normal and then I can start the performance upgrades. Yeah, I'm a Chevy guy. Why? My 66 died while I was headed for work one day. No fuel reaching the carb. I hitch hiked to the next exit off rt 66 in Va went to an auto parts store and bought a fuel pump for $14.95 went back and changed it on the side of the road. Yeah, Chevy guy!

I wonder if the brake booster is leaking. Do they feel stiff? It can cause a vacuum leak at idle and make it stumble, especially coming to stop lights or when holding the brake.

Anyhow, that's for another thread.

Nice line-up of cars. I especially dig the '69 Firebird, you just don't see many of that year. The C4 Vette will make a fun addition, they're great daily drivers. Enjoy it and drive the hell out of it, they ain't worth much anyway. Sad but true. Welcome aboard!

yes, but this is also what makes them the best damned hot rod on the planet!

Oh, and fuel pumps for a C4 are about $100.00 now-a-days... that's also sad but true.
