Bush did what? He did nothing. Nada. Zilch.

I wonder what his blind trust is worth these days...

WOW!! (I'm starting all my posts with that for now on)

I guess you're right.

I just figured since he got blamed for the price going up, he'd get credit for it going down...guess not.

Just sayin'..

As to his blind trust, probably less than the Kennedy's, Gore's, and Kerry's.

All I know is that I put 19 gallons in my truck yesterday and it cost me $30. I couldn't be happier. I recall not too long ago paying over $80 for a full tank.

Now that gas is cheap, I hope the US doesn't get lazy and back off its push for more drilling and alternative energy sources. I'd also like to see more hybrid development (how about a light weight diesel hybrid getting 80+ MPG?)

I'd also like to see more electric vehicle development, and and an electric grid capable of sustaining them... perhaps some more nuke plants are in order.

It would be nice for the US to be able to give the finger to OPEC and Venezuela.

I'm kinda sad really, I never made it to $100 on a fillup. The most was about $94 for my truck.

Now what OPEC needs to do, is overproduce, run the price into the ground for 5 years to make sure development of alternative fuels is nowhere near economically viable. Then, they can have another gas embargo to keep the cycle going.

If gas stays expensive for too long, people will eventually find another tit to suckle on, and OPEC won't be so popular anymore.

Could bring back Going for a Sunday drive. Can't afford to do anything else but to gas up the car and go for a cruise. Or maybe go visit some friends. Cheaper than going out for a movie.

I just filled my Vette yesterday... $36.00 or so, for just over 17 gallons of premium. There is a 5% discount that still needs to be deducted from that price.

Over the summer, it maxed to $85.00 (pre discount) on a similar fillup.

The other thing is, other countries like Canada, Russia, etc...are drilling. That helps.

I am one of those that hopes we don't get complacent on developing new forms of energy. I also hope the rabid environut wack jobs are likewise marginalized in the process.

The reality is, a gallon of gas is STILL the cheapest way to go 20-30 miles.

Merrill has it under $25 a barrel next year!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,462284,00.html

Get ready, mark my words, the people in Washington were never pissed about $5 gas, they were just pissed they weren't getting enough of it, in their view.

Gas tax will go up.

Now, how do all those new Prius drivers look? Rather silly huh?

I think the worst I had was about $110 for a tank of gas and a carton of cigs. Made me weep.

The one thing I didn't mind about the high prices was that it made investment in alternatives viable. I hope folks aren't so short-sighted to think the problem will go away.

Yes, there needs to be viable alternatives, but also, we need to take this opportunity to EXPLORE and prep for more drilling. Next time it goes up we should be able to tap some major reserves in 90 days.

The approach has to be on all fronts, and the environuts need to be neutered.

Yes, by alternatives, I intended to include drilling, shale oil, etc. that are not attractive when oil is cheap.

Today my Dad said that the government would raise taxes on gas, now that it has gone down. A couple of minutes later, Tom Brokal suggested the same thing to Obama.
Watch, it is going to happen.

There are more diesel dykes than femmes, so that drives up the price based on supply/demand.
