Has the ride changed at all? Ie, bumps hit harder, etc? I can't lower mine up here....Chicago roads would kill it.

Too soon to tell! I completed the job yesterday afternoon, and only took it around the block to let the suspension settle. I'm going to take it to get an alignment, so we'll see! I've definitely got to be careful not to run over anything, because it's quite a bit lower than it was!

It looks good. How did you bond the new pad? Any different procedure than what has already been published?

Now I got to have you come help do mine!

Thanks!

Well, I modified the procedure a little! I actually sanded down the stock wedges to the desired height with a belt sander and 40grit paper, left off the metal shims, and trimmed the spring retaining brackets accordingly!

Did you do any measuring before or after to see the drop on the front? I have been wanting to do this to mine for a few years and haven't had the "fortitude" to do it. I have no problem diggining into the motor, but suspension stuff gets me a little nervous.

Ha! See, I'm scared to dig into the motor!
I did measure, but only the 'after' measurement. Like a dummy,I didn't think about it until after I had it up on the jackstands, and I was too lazy to take it down just to measure it...
Right now, it's sitting at 26" from top of fender well to ground in the rear, and 25.5" for the front. ( I think that's right..My notes are at home, so I'll check to be sure..it may be 25 and 24.5, respectively...but I can't recall..

I wound up removing 5/8" from the aluminum bracket, which includes the amount of wedge sanded and width of shim I left out... Pic below!
It's not that bad (especially if I can do it!) It was a heck of a lot easier than replacing that damn heater core!

Those pivots blocks look a little too short to me. I would recommend putting the aluminum shims back in to help avoid spring contact with the frame.

I want to do this mod. Actually I would rather buy somebody beer and dinner so I could watch them do it.

I scrape the chin spoiler about every time I go anywhere though, so perhaps it is not for me.

Is that as high as you had to jack the front end? I swear I've seen other pix where the nose of the car was six feet in the air. Looked scary as a really scary thing.

When I did the lowering I really didn't have the car any higher then when I would change the oil. Mine stock height was just under 28" at the front fender. It wasn't really a tough project. I got to replace those torn grease boots so less grease flung on the wheels! I also belt sanded the stock wedge down.

You can get a finger up on top of the spring to see if it's hitting the inboard frame bump.
