I like cruising around Ebay to look at other vettes for sale. I found this one that looks nice, salvaged, but the only thing that is not right is the ZR1 badges.

I am not sure what it means to salvage and auto, is that a bad thing? They don't put into print it is a ZR1 but they don't say otherwise either, is that fraud? Just curious.

Not sure on the salvage thing. He should really say why its that way. Not a horrible price for that year considering. I wish I had the money to get one though as the prices are great right now.

That one has been on there for a while. Notice the brake light location, and the wrong motor. I do like the bumble-bee exhaust though.

I would only buy salvage if the repairs were well documented, or if the car was dirt cheap.

It doesn't take much to salvage a vette, could have all been cosmetic damage.

Me too. And I wouldn't buy one if I were planning on selling it anytime soon. Here in IL you can't buy a salvage title. You can buy a rebuilt, though, which was a salvage that was repaired by a facility and inspected by the state to be roadworthy. Value of a rebuilt can drop to about 1/2 as much as a non-rebuilt.

As far as the ZR1 badge, the guy never alludes to it being a ZR1, I don't think it's a big deal.

Looks like the bags blew and the passenger side bag was not replaced.

Nice looking car, minus the exhaust a ZR-1 badges and worth a look at 4k for a shitbox track car.

I am not sure where to start...

1. I don't think the airbag deployed. 1994 dash pads are real junk. they shrink like a mother.

2. I am wondering if it was a flood car. If that was the case, be ready for real fun.

3. I am not sure what is meant by "the wrong engine." It's an LT1 car with an LT1. The ZR1 badge is someones attempt at bling. And fraud. I hate that.

4. CARFAX would reveal WHY it has a rebuild title.

5. It isn't worth nearly that money... $4k would be optimistic. If it was perfect, 6spd, with half the miles, it wouldn't be worth more than $11k. So with an auto, nearly 100k and a rebuild title, it's not worth squat.

A shame... a real shame... or is that sham?

Anyone can see its not a Z. Cept some bonehead who might think its a killer deal. In which case hes gonna show at some Corvette event and spaz out when hes told the truth.

Poser? I think that anyone who puts ZR-1 wheels on any model but a ZR-1 is a poser.

Moving on.......

I don't mind the wheels... they don't have ZR1 inscribed on them, and to add insult to injury, the a-molds were made for the ZR1 and the GS and the CE's...

And I disagree... not "anyone" can tell the difference. That's what bothers me the most. Sure, we can. We know the brakelight is on the roof, the wider bodywork... But not everyone knows that.

And many are just too damned proud admit they DON'T know. I call these the "cruise-in know-it-alls." Mention a Corvette, and they know someone who had one, making them instant experts... they also know about the rare metal bodied ones... or any number of urban legends.

Many have heard about ZR1... they just don't know what it means.

Nether does the GS fender stripe. Yet most will scream poser at those as well. I think the stripes look right on any C4 especially when combined with the right colors.

Silly sematics on both sides......

The stripes don't bother me, really... then again, I want a car length vintage racing stripe down the drivers side.

I think it would look cool! Dark green, with an offset white stripe?

Definitely! Maybe a bit off-white. Wouldn't want the rest of the car getting jealous.
