Looking good, John. Glad you got all your window issues worked out. And that front door looks much more secure than the old one.

AH yeah the window saga...glad thats over with. I still have to get the front door adjusted so the dead bolt lines up correctly, going to pay someone to do that. I just cant get it to line up right. Interior doors are no problem for me but those with the dead bolt....just are too much for me.

TILE IS DOWN!! Well most of it. I usually cut most of the tile than lay some, then go back to cutting some more. Easier on the back that way I think. So its 85% done and tomorrow I will finish. I did not snap a pic of what needs to be done which is a very small closet space and the door way (I am 1 tile row away to being done). Kinda ran outta gas and I was worried that I dont have enough thin set so instead of chancing it I decided to finish tomorrow. So looks like Tuesday I will be grouting!!

The tile looks great. I like the color.

What was the problem on your windows?

Well its a long story but basically we got a window company to install 4 new windows all of which were new construction. So this companys been around for 50 years or so and they send over 2 guys to start work who said they would be done same day. They spend the entire day makeing 4 TRIPS to lowes for god knows what and at the end of the day only 2 windows are there but they messed up so badly on them IE one cut too much siding away and on the inside the window sills were differant sizes. So they then tell us they are coming back on SUPER BOWL SUNDAY to finish so I told them your ass better be done before 5pm cause I was hosting a party. They NEVER showed up so called the boss, boss fired them and send another crew over who did fix everything but it took another week for them to do it.

Tile looks good, John. I'm glad you liked the brickwork pattern - looks sharp in there.

Thanks! I am glad you posted pics of the brickwork design, I love it! Should be done today with laying tile, got about 15 more tiles total to lay/cut. I should have 1 full box left over which means cash back! My knees hurt a tad when I work up and the back feels much better. The next pics I will take will be on Thursday where I will have the toilet, mirror and sink installed.

Sucks about the windows, at least it's resolved.

I bought one of those cheapo wet saws at Lowes, $70, a while back. I'm supprised how well it works.

The grout's my least favorite part of the whole deal.

I dont mind the grout so much though its killer on the back and knees. All the sponging sucks but its a fairly quick job. I allways have problems with mixing either too little or way too much.

Ah hell, I do that with: grout, paint, body puddy, fiberglass resin and chicken soup.

Thanks, they sell it at either Lowes or Home Depot brand name of Marazzi and its montagna collection. Runs about $1.80 a tile.

Looks good, but wait 48-72 hours before sealing the grout.

Normally I would but I got help coming and I want this done before the weekend. I will double check the bag but I thought it said 24 hours before sealing. I know if you cover the floor in plastic it increases the dry time of the grout and strengthens it as well. Did not have the time for that which is why I did not do it. If the bag says to wait 48 I will call the help up and put it off one day. Thanks!

DAMN! It says to wait 72 hours! Ah well, guess I will wait it out. Better to be done right then have it screwed up.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, John. Hang in there, I was anxious to get mine done, too.
