LOL!! Just for kicks....someone mentioned getting my car stolen.....so I looked up NADA values

NADA only has the "classic car" section available for 89s and older...all the way to 1962 models. Not sure my '84 is a "classic" but whatever....

This is what I got

July 17, 2009

PRICING

Original MSRP: $21,800
Low Retail Average Retail Value High Retail
Base Price $6,750 $11,900 $15,700
Options
4 Speed Transmission $1,000 $1,250 $1,500
Factory Air Conditioning 10% 10% 10%
TOTAL PRICE $8,425 $14,340 $18,770

Holy Smokes!! I need to park this in South Central LA and tape the keys to the driver side window!!!

I wish people wouldn't compare trade in with retail...

I think we all know there are 3 prices, trade in, private party and retail. Trade in is the lowest, but an indicator of what the other 2 will be.

I wonder what a 92 faded Polo covered in grease and lying in pieces would be worth these days?

My cousin has a beautiful blue C6 (06?). And he's a car sales manager. Just for kicks he asked the trade in guy what it was worth and he was shocked when the guy said like $28,000. I told him to call me before that ever happens

True....and once one figures this out, all is good from that point on.

It's the kids (or mental children) at car lots that throw the hissy.

I just couldn't believe NADA put the lowest at $8k!!! I'd take $8k for my car all day long. NOT to mention they dared go near $10k for any '84........

Look at Kelly Blue Book it seems to be more realistic on older cars than NADA. www.kbb.com Oops sorry they only go back 20 years on used car prices.

The grease is mostly gone. I am guessing that hurts its value.

then screwed up the already trashed paint and then acutally put it back together.

This was after he shows up at my house with the car on a rollback.

I have been seeing clean 05's going for $25k all day long. The economic crash really took out their values.
