Hey guys, up early and off to the 'city'. Got most of it done, but have to go back Monday to hopefully finish. sheetrock guy was using "hot Mud" (dries in 45 minutes), but still didn't finish it up completely. I got the bench, soap caddy, vanity top, door frame installed and most of the joints caulked, but the doors would have been in the way of the mudder, so I left them off. He's going back tomorrow afternoon to finish.

That IS one ugly sweater! If you don't win call for a recount on the votes...

I guess K-State gave the Longhorns everything they wanted, just couldn't pull off the win.

We have had some nearly perfect days here. upper 60s to low 70s and little to moderate breezes. Supposed to be the same for the next few days.

I wish I had the patience to read books. Instead I read articles that I can get through in a few minutes from a wide spectrum of topics. "I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little."

That is one ugly sweater there Letty.

Cleaning house today I guess since it's windy and overcast. Whatever the priority is. A clean home is a happy home. Of course mine only gets to be about the 80% clean. Dust and dog fur are the main culprits.

"May the good news be yours."

READING A BOOK SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT LEANDER MC'NEELY; HALF WAY THROUGH BEFORE IT GETS TO HIM. FIRST IS A LONG PREVIEW OF TEXAS HISTORY. I'M INTERESTED IN RANGER STUFF AS MY GREAT-GREAT GRANDFATHER RODE WITH JACK HAYS AGAINST THE COMANCHES AND IN THE MEXICAN WAR.

ALSO READING A GREAT TAKEOFF ON SHERLOCK HOLMS FEATURING PROFESSOR MORIARTY AND COL MORAN, VERY ENTERTAINING.

HAVE SUPER SATURDAY, AMIGOS!

Good evening, was beautiful today, 67 and the next few days we will end up past 80. I love it. Spent the afternoon running my cousin around, their car is on the fritz and it's the only one they have. Then I got a call about a bad print at the office, an ambulance wrap and the last stripe didn't match, not dark enough green. Turns out to be a low ink issue that the printer didn't beep us about and it ran with not enough yellow from when it started. Entire ambulance has to be striped and redone, and it was 9/10 completed, they needed it today. Crap happens I guess but sucks either way.
Good song there, Little Red Corvette. Just so happens, we are having an ugly sweater contest as part of our Vette Club's holiday party and I found a Prince, Little Red Corvette one.

I would love to party but there's a good chance it would kill me. Best if I don't party like it's 1999.

As a Catholic I find that joke highly offensive. But according to the last priest I talked with I'm not a Catholic. I have my own religion. So I guess it's OK then.

Replaced 3 outdoor spotlights yesterday that were retired due to age and condtion. Nice light weight plastic replacements with LEDs. Today is flush the water system, replace the filter and add salt to the conditioner. Keeping busy is easy for me. More to do than time or energy allows.

CORVETTE RACING AT BAHRAIN: Top-Five Result for Keating

One last ride for Corvette C8.R in GTE race finale

SAKHIR, Bahrain (November 3, 2023) – Corvette Racing will close its FIA World Endurance Championship season with a third-row start in the GTE Am field for Saturday’s Eight Hours of Bahrain.

Ben Keating set a best lap of 1:59.412 (101.408 mph) during Friday’s 15-minute session to qualify fifth in the No. 33 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C8.R. As he has all season, Keating will team Saturday with fellow GTE Am champions Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone with the trio going for its fourth win of 2023.

The Thursday and Friday practice sessions were each in dramatically different conditions, which – if nothing else – gave the Corvette team and the rest of the WEC paddock and opportunity to explore a variety of setups and options ahead of Saturday’s 2 p.m. local start.

Thursday’s practice was interrupted first by a severe wind and sand storm and then by a steady rain shower. The day’s night practice was in dry and cooler conditions while Friday’s practice and qualifying sessions were in more typical conditions for Bahrain – hot and sunny. The latter gave teams a read on likely conditions for the start of Saturday’s race and the level of tire degradation that will ultimately play a large role in the race’s outcome.

This is the second year at Bahrain for the C8.R, which finished second in GTE Pro in 2022 with Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy sharing the Corvette. Saturday’s race and Corvette Racing’s presence is notable for a number of reasons.

The Corvette team is aiming to cap off a banner season in which it already has claimed the GTE Am Drivers and Teams titles, three race wins – including the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and three pole-position runs for Keating. Another win Saturday would give the C8.R a total of 21 victories worldwide in 82 events and close Corvette Racing’s two-year campaign in the FIA WEC with a fifth victory.

It also would send Corvette out as the final race-winner of the GTE class. One of the mainstays of GTE racing since the category was introduced in 2011, the Corvette program also has been one of the most successful with 48 of its 127 worldwide victories coming with GTE machinery – which also includes North American wins in the American Le Mans Series’ GT class as well IMSA’s GT Le Mans category.

As much of a coronation as this weekend is for the Corvette program, it also serves as a transition point. The Corvette Z06 GT3.R is slated to be part of the WEC grid next year in the hands of TF Sport for the LM GT3 category while the No. 33 C8.R team transitions back to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship under the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports banner.

As in previous races, the C8.R is running at Bahrain with a level of rewards weight due to its successes earlier this year: 15 kilograms for leading the championship and 10 kilograms for finishing second in the previous race at Fuji on top of 10 extra kilograms added to the car’s minimum weight ahead of the Monza round for a total of 35 kilograms – five less than at the Japanese round but still the heaviest car in class. The Corvette also received a two-liter decrease in fuel capacity and a 0.6mm restrictor adjustment to limit engine power.

The Eight Hours of Bahrain is scheduled for 2 p.m. Arabian Standard Time / 7 a.m. ET on Saturday. MotorTrend and MotorTrend Plus will provide both live television and streaming coverage, as will the FIA WEC app. Radio Le Mans will stream live audio coverage of the race.

BEN KEATING, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – QUALIFIED FIFTH: “More than where we qualified, I’m happy with the lap time. That was one second quicker than anything than did in my qualifying simulation. There is so much tire degradation here that it’s a balance between taking care of the tire – because we have to race on these same tires – and trying to hit the peak of the tire. I think the reason I was able to put that lap together was because it was my third one and on the peak of the tire. I kept trying to repeat it, and I couldn’t. It just wasn’t there in the tire. It’s really interesting how my two laps that were closest to that were seven-tenths of a second off. It’s worth that much time. I’m happy with the time but also with the result. Tyler (Neff, race engineer) said before qualifying that he thought a top-five result was possible, and he nailed it.”

Final GTE qualifying session: “I’m sure this will be going through my head the entire weekend. I’m driving around at the end of qualifying, and I’m thinking that this is the last time that I’m qualifying this car in GTE. It’s the last time I’m going to qualify in WEC. It’s been such a special year this year with the Corvette. Even when you qualify fifth and it’s your lowest result of the entire year, it’s still special.”

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “I feel like everyone will struggle with tires here. Historically, this track is really rough on tires and everyone will have that issue. But if you take away that issue, we still have quite a bit of deficit in terms of pace. So we need to understand where we can gain little bits of time to reduce that gap. As always, I do believe that with our lineup we do have a bit of an advantage over some of the other teams. We need to remain calm and be focused on the race. This will be more difficult than all other events we’ve done. I’m just going to do my best for the team and enjoy this last GTE race.”

NICO VARRONE, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: "For me, this place is very special. Not even one year ago, I arrived here for the rest time and met the Corvette Racing team for the first time. I was shy at the beginning, I didn't speak too much and had pressure because I knew this could be big for me. It was a really good opportunity. I had the desire to do well but also some pressure that goes on inside. But everything went well. I got the drive and what has happened after that was amazing - winning Sebring, Portimao and Le Mans for Corvette on the 70th anniversary for Corvette and the Centenary Le Mans. And now we are champions. That's why being here and this whole atmosphere being at this track means so much."

CORVETTE RACING AT BAHRAIN: By the Numbers

• 1: As in one team, one manufacturer and one model of car for 25 years of racing: Corvette Racing, Chevrolet and the Chevrolet Corvette

• 3: Positions gained in GTE Pro by Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy in last year’s Bahrain race in the No. 64 Corvette

• 3: Number of GTE Am wins in four FIA WEC races this season for Nicky Catsburg, Ben Keating and Nico Varrone with the No. 33 Corvette C8.R

• 7: Hours difference between Manama, Bahrain and Detroit in the Eastern Time Zone

• 14: Manufacturer Championships for Chevrolet and Corvette Racing since 2001

• 27: Tracks at which Corvette Racing has won races – Baltimore, Charlotte Motor Speedway, COTA, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport, Daytona, Detroit, Houston, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Lime Rock, Long Beach, Miami, Mid-Ohio, Monza, Portimão, Portland, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, Sonoma, St. Petersburg, Texas, Trois Rivieres, Utah, VIR, Washington DC and Watkins Glen

• 34: Number of drivers for Corvette Racing since 1999. Ben Keating and Nico Varrone joined that list with their participation – and victory – in the 1,000 Miles of Sebring for the World Endurance Championship

• 35: Kilograms of success ballast for the Corvette C8.R at Fuji – 10 for finishing second at Fuji, 15 for leading the GTE Am championship and 10 additional kilograms added to the car’s minimum weight by the organizers

• 127: Victories worldwide for Corvette Racing – 115 in North America, nine at Le Mans and three in the FIA WEC

• 283: Event starts by Corvette Racing since 1999

• 6,883: Approximate mileage from Detroit Metropolitan Airport to Bahrain International Airport, one way. That’s a greater distance than the No. 33 Corvette C8.R has raced this year in WEC competition

• 361,214.36: Total number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing since its inception. To put that in perspective, Corvette Racing is more than halfway to the distance traveled by Apollo 13 – the longest manned spaceflight in history: 622,268 miles. That means Corvette Racing has raced to the moon and more than halfway back!

CLEAR AND COLD THIS MORNING, 46 OUT FRONT 44 AT TAHLEQUAH.
A WARMER DAY, THEY SAY, HIGH OF 67. THE CHEROKEES ARE IN FAVOR OF THAT :-)

OPEN AGENDA FOR ME, DARLING WIFE HAS A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT IN MUSKOGEE. GOT THE BIG YELLOW DUMP TRUCK FOR YOGI YESTERDAY. HAD A MINOR SCARE: THEY HAD MOVED THE TOYS AROUND AND I THOUGHT THEY WERE SOLD OUT.

IT'S PROBABLY DRY ENOUGH FOR ME TO BLOW THE FALLEN LEAVES OFF THE PATIOS.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING, AMIGOS!

Hey guys, been busy the last several days. Today we started the bathroom remodel over in the 'city'. Stuff torn out shower base set and sheetrock hung. Tomorrow we will finish the rock and install the shower walls and new vanity top. With a little luck we might finish it up ... the owners are doing the rest themselves..

Good Evening CGs!

I've been busy this week. Finally got a call back from their insurance company for the claim. It's open and pending but moving slow. Got the estimate done yesterday from their independent appraiser but haven't heard back yet. My back has been hurting so I've been to the chiropractor twice this week and made two more appointments for next week. They can pay for that, too.

Have to cut back on TKD classes. I'll try to teach a couple but won't be able to participate.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Yeah I hear you on the Goodwill thing...we donate some clothes there but a lot of stuff goes out to the local place that knows where the needs are in the area. We like the Salvation army also.... We kept all the heirloom furniture and glassware. She had several Ethan Allen pieces of furniture that the kids wanted.... in fact all the dressers and bedroom sets went to the kids....

very nice here today as more seasonable weather moves in.... clear and no wind with temps getting into the mid 50's....

Tommy I keep thinking about your son... is anything positive going on there? keep at it Guru's

Good morning Gris, cold here but at least the sun is out so it'll warm up a bit, steady warmer till the weekend.
Pontoon completed and guy has done been here to pay and headed to our shop across the street to pick it up, one down, several more to go.
Marcus, it's a hard job going through a loved one's belongings and decompressing their life after many years, sorry you have to do that. Taking it to charities you can at least get a tax receipt, although I try to avoid Goodwill - they don't help the needed at all but pay their corporate in the millions. Salvation army, church thrifts and such are who I tend to donate to. Friends with flea market booths are handy too, I'm helping support my friend's side gig and cleaning out at the same time. Just be sure to look up stuff you're not sure about, some things go for quite a lot, especially mid century items. I collect those and resell and you'd be surprised what something goes for that I thought was worthless.

I pity my kids going through all we have gathered in the last 40 years.....

Good afternoon, sun is out here but still cold, will be they say for the remainder of the week. Wish I was off today, I was sleeping like a dead person last night, didn't want to get up, perhaps a nap when I get home. Nothing much on the list at work today, have a bus coming Tuesday, install crew piled up with work from stuff I've already sent through. I have been on the work FB page posting though.

CLEAR, CALM, AND COLD, 22 ON THE FRONT PORCH, 32 OUT BACK.
THINK I'VE GOT A THERMOMETER PROBLEM :-) THEY SAY IT'S 28 IN TAHLEQUAH, GOING FOR 50---HEAT WAVE!

GOT THE USUAL FIRST OF THE MONTH STUFF TO DO TODAY. DOGGYDOC DAUGHTER HAS ANOTHER ABANDONED DOG ON OFFER; NOT SURE I WANT TO ROCK THE BOAT. TROUBLE COULD USE ANOTHER WARM BODY IN THE DOGHOUSE THESE COLD NIGHTS BUT IT WOULD DISRUPT THE ESTABLISHED ROUTINE.

Tee, I see a holistic doctor too, I'm due back for a complete workup redo, blood work, hormones, saliva testing, fecal testing you name it. Last time she did all that I literally got a book of all my stuff, blew my mind. Glad you feel better

CORVETTE RACING AT BAHRAIN: A Corvette Coronation!

Final race for C8.R in historic championship season for Corvette program

DETROIT (Oct. 30, 2023) – Can Corvette Racing go out on top to end 2023? That’s certainly the plan as the team goes for its fourth FIA World Endurance Championship victory this year in the season-ending Eight Hours of Bahrain.

It would be a fitting exit for the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, which will race for the final time in the hands of Nicky Catsburg, Ben Keating and Nico Varrone. Already this year, the No. 33 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette has won the GTE Am category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 1,000 Miles of Sebring and Six Hours of Portimão.

By finishing no worse than fourth at any race so far, the No. 33 Corvette Racing squad locked up the GTE Am Drivers and Teams championships two rounds ago at Monza in Italy. A fourth WEC win would give the C8.R a total of 21 victories worldwide in 82 events and close Corvette Racing’s two-year campaign in the FIA WEC with a fifth win.

As much of a coronation as Bahrain will be for the Corvette program, it also serves as a transition point for the Corvette brand.

There’s still work to do in the present, however. Corvette Racing finished second in GTE Pro last year in its first race at the 3.36-mile, 15-turn Bahrain International Circuit with stellar drives from both Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy. Armed with that experience and notebook from the event, the goal is to finish one step higher on the podium this time around.

Working in the benefit of Corvette Racing is its perfect 2-0 record in races longer than six hours in FIA WEC competition this year with wins at Le Mans and Sebring – each by at least one lap. It also doesn’t hurt that Keating is a two-time GTE Am winner at Bahrain, Catsburg posted two top-five finishes in World Touring Car Cup a year ago, and Varrone has previous history in the C8.R at Bahrain from last year’s Rookie Test.

As in previous races, the C8.R will run at Bahrain with a level of rewards weight due to its successes earlier this year: 15 kilograms for leading the championship and 10 kilograms for finishing second in the previous race at Fuji on top of 10 extra kilograms added to the car’s minimum weight ahead of the Monza round for a total of 35 kilograms – five less than at the Japanese round but still the heaviest in GTE Am.

The Corvette also will race with a two-liter decrease in fuel capacity and a 0.6mm restrictor adjustment to limit engine power.

The Eight Hours of Bahrain is scheduled for 2 p.m. Arabian Standard Time / 7 a.m. ET on Saturday. MotorTrend and MotorTrend Plus will provide both live television and streaming coverage, as will the FIA WEC app. Radio Le Mans will stream audio coverage of the race plus Friday’s final practice and qualifying.

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “The pressure is a little bit off, but it is a weekend I’m looking forward to. It’s our last weekend together with this team in WEC with the C8.R and the GTE cars. It’s kind of like a weekend of goodbyes. The whole season, you are fighting for something and trying to achieve something, and we’ve done that. But there is always the challenge of winning the race. It is nice we will be crowned champions during the after-season party, so it will be great to be back with the guys again, driving a car that I love to drive, and being with Ben and Nico again.”

(On the legacy of the C8.R): “The C8.R is the best GTE car that I’ve ever driven. It’s such a versatile car that is good at anything you throw at it. Tracks like Le Mans, little tracks, big tracks, high-speed corner, low-speed stuff… the car is just a championship-winner. It’s not just good at one thing, and that’s what makes it so strong. We’ve always been able to adjust our setup and car to the tracks and perform well everywhere. It’s an amazing car. It’s a car that I’ve always felt comfortable in, and it's a car that I will miss driving, although it’s clear that the Corvette GT3 will be similar.”

BEN KEATING, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “I am looking forward to the race in Bahrain, not only because we’ll be there to celebrate our accomplishments, not only is it the end of a fairy tale season by winning everything in the last year of GTE with the Corvette is incredible. I really enjoy the race at Bahrain. To me, the longer the race the better. It’s been a little while since we’ve had a longer race like that. I enjoy the eight-hour race in Bahrain. Traditionally I have been fairly good there. I would say I have high expectations, but I’d also say that we’ve been up front in every race this season, so why wouldn’t we continue that? We still get to lose another five kilos for this race, which should be a little bit better for us. This should be fun to watch. From what I remember about this track, the tire degradation is really high. I think that’s good for the Corvette. Having raced in the Porsche and the Aston Martin, I think the Corvette handles the tire deg better than the other cars. Once again, I have very expectations for what we can achieve there. I’m looking forward to the whole experience of heading to Bahrain, doing the last race, doing the final celebration dinner. It’s exciting.”

NICO VARRONE, NO. 33 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “It’s crazy. This has been a dream season. We won a lot of races, won the championship three races early, we won Le Mans as well. It’s been a fantastic season and we’ve had so much fun that it went so far, which is sad a little bit. But we will make sure we enjoy all the time with the mechanics, the engineers and the rest of the team at Bahrain. It will be fun.”

(On his first season with Corvette Racing): “I feel like from the outside, you always see teams like Corvette Racing and I have to say I was really nervous before Sebring. I didn’t know how the team worked, how the car works, how different things were than what I was used to. But I learned a lot on how to work with these guys and how to work with a lineup like this with Nicky and Ben, and also with engineers and mechanics. I’ve also had races where we had to manage the tires and save fuel. I had done that before, but I feel like I maximized it in a good way. I think I’ve gotten better in all those ways for endurance racing. I feel like I’ve learned so much how to set up a car, how I like the car also. It’s been a great season with some really good memories that I’ll remember all my life.”

Hey guys, been busy the last couple of days. Yesterday morning it was a bit chilly, 15 is what the back deck thermo said. It did warm up better than the weather gurus were predicting, mid 40s. Today it was a balmy 18 when we got up, headed to the low 40s they say. Sunny and no wind to speak of. Should be a nice night for the T or Ters. It is supposed to warm back into the 60s and 70s tomorrow and beyond a few days.

Oh our Dr appointment last week was with a Wholistic Dr. She figured out quite a bit from our, very extensive, blood workup. Put us on some supplements, I feel better already.

Staining #1s Christmas/anniversary present today. Will make every effort to spray the finish tomorrow. Thursday we head over to the 'city' to install an Onyx shower unit. Hopefully only a two day job.

Good afternoon, I wish I was in Tommy's territory, too cold here for me. Mom should've left me in Cali when they moved back here. Marcus that operation sounds cool, must be something to see. Big change from the old ways of doing things.
Kinda slow at the office today, not bothering me, I have a small bus coming Tuesday from a local college, did one for them couple years ago, same stuff just smaller scale. Y'all ready for trick or treaters? Arron went out last night to pick up something at WalMart, came back with chocolate bread, banana bread, 3 ice cream containers, 3 giant bags of candy and some other junk. Guess he had a sweet tooth although he said "candy is for kids but if we don't have many I guess I can eat it". I'm guessing that was his plan all along.
Yes, some of my MCM stuff is a side hustle, a friend had a shop I consigned some through, but I do collect. She's about to move and closed shop although she does auction stuff online, waiting for my cash out for the month. I think I might keep this lamp tho, and see if I can track an appropriate shade down. Those are just as high as the lamps.
Samhain blessings

Took care of the morning chore list. Getting ready to kick in some afternoon chores. It's freakin hot. High of 87 but there is a cool front coming soon so I'm very optimistic. I was reading about dessets that once had rivers and people of European decent living in China 4000 years ago. Recently saw some aerial shots near Mount Ararat of the possible remains of Noah's Ark. They found some bones and food remains that are being analyzed. The point being maybe the world was once covered in water so if the ice caps melt it's just history repeating itself. With all the smart people in the world humans really do some stupid stuff.

...was out riding in big combines yesterday... very high tech no steering GPS machines... corn was coming out on one farmers fields at 350 bu up to hitting 400 occasionally on the yield monitor.... that is not a normal number.... most yields will be 100 bu less.... as the tractor pulling the grain cart comes up alongside the combine in the field so the combine can unload on the go.... the combine takes over the tractors controls keeping it right where it is supposed to be so nothing gets spilled.... the driver in the tractor just sits there and lets the combine do the steering and speed adjustments.... that's very cool....

good on you getting the MCM stuff VB..... dat what they call a side hustle....

Good afternoon, I had doc appts in next town over today up and out at 8:30 and it was only 39 out. I bout froze. First appt was hearing lady, I have developed tinnitis so went to get it seen about. Said I have very minimal hearing loss, consistent with my age, but she said "I bet you cover your ears a lot". Yes I do, why? She said you have supersonic hearing in the upper ranges. Said nothing they can really do for tinnitis but a hearing aid can help buffer it, but I don't need a hearing aid so she said she'd check on me in a year. My 2nd appt cancelled so I picked up a nice MCM lamp for $15 that I'll either put in pool house or sell for $175 if I change my mind and had lunch with a friend. Came back home to finish up moving plants in, will be 25 tonight, and trying to get warm. Nap sounds good too.

Howdy! Got up before 06:00 AM. Had a delivery in Key Largo. I got to drive across 18 miles of undeveloped land on part of the road known as the 18 mile stretch. That used to be known as suicide alley till about 20 years ago they divided the road with a concrete barrier. They also put up fencing on both sides of the road that takes away from the natural beauty but I think they did that to keep humans out and critters in. Did the morning animal feedings then laid down for a couple of hours for a nap. Of course the phone had to ring but I didn't answer it then resumed napping. Now to wake up again and take on a chore or two. Slow and steady win the race. Waiting for the coffee to kick in.

Good Evening CGs!

Also cool here, today. We have the heat turned on in the house but no snow yet. I'll be driving the Corvette until that time. It did rain a bit today but the car wash will take care of that.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good evening, gloomy here too and light rain off and on. We sure did need it, but it's cold as all get out also. Will be decent during the day but freezing or mid-upper 20s for the lows all week. We've not done anything, we planned to take a drive to see fall colors on our usual trip to Maplewood Cemetery but got rained out. We junk store shopped yesterday and just laid around today. I saw a lamp I'm going back after tomorrow, having it held, a MCM lamp, for $18 that goes for about $200. Might sell, but expecting I'll keep it for the pool house. That's turning into a 70s groove pad so far soon as I get a puke green shag rug and a couple of chairs recovered I have here. Arron is in the kitchen where any good man should be making us some chili gonna kick my butt outta gear on the couch with chili and a murder mystery here in a bit.

...yeah... I had that idea also on keeping air off and heat off until a certain time.... until I came out to find Doc huddled around the gas oven with the door open and wearing her long winter parka and a stocking cap one morning... I then received the look.... so amazingly the heat was turned on and all was better....

Oh, the winter weather watch we were under, never developed. Not even a drop of rain, flake of snow or drizzle of icy stuff.

Hey guys, up early and off to fix breakfast for the masses after Mass (see what I did there?) Unfortunately the masses didn't show up in droves, I think the cold weather kept them away, only about 2/3 of what we normally see.

Cleaned up and home and out to the shop. Haven't turned heat on out there, but it's not bad for working.

Speaking of not turning the heat on, we haven't in the house yet, either. Rosie makes every effort to not have AC or heat on from September 1 to November 1. We had a high of 38 yesterday and only 35 today, so it is cooling down in the house. Went to bed last night it was 62 in the bedroom. Got up this morning, 61, now 60. With the knowledge of how Rosies' thought process goes, I told her I thought we MIGHT need an extra blanket the next couple of nights. Looking forward to Wednesday.....

got up to face a skiff of snow on the deck.... it was ugly to see.... cold out... and gloomy.... sounds a lot like winter...

Kids left after lunch yesterday.... little one missed her nap and was unconsolable.... so they strapped her in the car seat and she was out like a light the first 10 miles we were told.

I remember having to strap out kids in a 1 in the morning and drive them around until they conked out.... the rhythm of the road.... gotta love it... better get some steaks out Gris....

IT'S 43 DEGREES AND CLOUDY IN SOAKLAHOMA AND WILL NOT WARM UP MUCH TODAY, THEY SAY. ACTUALLY, IT'S BEEN MORE CLOUDS THAN RAIN AND SLOW ENOUGH TO SOAK IN, ABOUT TWO AND A HALF INCHES SO FAR.

THE BEEF QUARTER IS TUCKED AWAY IN THE FREEZER.
BACK STORY: BOUGHT FROM THE HUSBAND AND WIFE VET TEAM DOGGYDOC DAUGHTER USED TO WORK WITH. THEY SOLD THEIR VETERINARY PRACTICE AND ARE NOW RAISING ANGUS CATTLE. $800 FOR THE QUARTER, THAT OUGHT TO HOLD US FOR A WHILE.

WE USED TO DO THIS WITH THE GRANDSON'S SHOW-CALVES WHEN THEY WERE IN HIGH-SCHOOL.

SUPPOSED TO FREEZE TONIGHT, I'LL HAVE TO GET READY FOR THAT BETWEEN RAIN SHOWERS.

BEST TO YOU, AMIGOS!

Good Evening CGs!

RR#1 did some driving today. She's still slightly nervous but doing alright. Time heals all wounds.

Hope everyone had a great day!
