Gooood Mooooning Guru's..... Ultraman back in the saddle after days of reckless abandon.... been up in the Black Hills riding Carmen Electra Glide through God's fine creation.... perfect weather not a cloud in the sky and lots of red meat and ranch sized breakfasts..... put on about 500 mountain miles through the Hills riding pretty much all day long.... a good time was had by all....

Went to the lighting ceremony they have each night at Rushmore and that was a great ceremony.... all those bozo's who are running the country should have to see that to remember what we are all about.....

speaking of which it seems like we are the enemy now... the MAGA people.... we are the danger to the American way of life..... that is just how propaganda works.... they feed lies to the huddled masses telling them that the Gubernment is their Daddy..... and here have $10 large to pay for college that you decided to go to..... what the F is that about...... are they buying votes or what? sunsabiches....

have a nice day Guru's.....

Went to the casino last night and what a night we had. I lost $300 right out of the gate then everything changed and I kept piling on nice little wins to make that up and much more. Sue hit a nice one that she had to sign tax papers for. Anything over $1200 you have to sign for. Gambling wallet is nice and fat again. It's a back and forth thing. As long as we stay close to even we're happy. For the year to date we are close to even.

good morning,
dreary looking this morning but saw some sun peeking out. Got home arouund 9 last night from the meeting, big plans they have for the Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend. I really need to go, haven't been to that one in years. But, they all leave on a thursday and come back on Sunday and it's hard for Arron go get out the last couple days of the week sometimes and seems everyone else up there has already schedled vaca to the point that a needed class he planned to go to he can't go. Have the Kubota people ready to print, and now the SG360 vans I'm making changes on when I thought they'd approve. And the "new" dude I'm working with, today is his last day and I have some lady to deal with. They were given a discount assuming it would be same artwork fitted to new van and less design time. Now I'm redoing it. Figures.
Y'all make it a great day the weekend is upon us

Morning guys.... Up and around early yesterday yo get some things done before heading north to watch GS run his first cross country meet. It was a nice start in the low 60s, byt warmed into the low 90s by the time we left.

Came in to clean up to go and Rosie says, "Maybe we should take 007 today" Just exactly what I was thinking. So I let him down from the lift and got him ready. My biggest thought was 'Why don't I do this more often?' It is such a joy to drive and gets lots of looks and comments.

Leo placed 15 in the varsity race out of approximately 75 runners in that race. Ran a PR, but didn't run as quickly as he wanted. Ran 20:08 for the 5k, but it was a tough course with a couple of looong hills that were kicking most everyones ass. He was hoping to break into the 19s on this first race.

Gign't get home until 10pm and I just left 007 outside as I will have to wash the bugs off his face and teeth before he goes back on the lift.

Pretty cool again this morning 57 when I grabbed my coffee, so I'll wait a little bit before I give 007 his bath. Stuff in the shop to do and materials coming next week for four other projects.....better get to it.

Oh, opening season football game this evening, so I'll be there running the clock/scoreboard. Hope you all have a great day.

Good afternoon - not much happening at work today, it's hot out, looking forward to more days off this weekend. Have a bite on Oneta's house but not holding out hope. Sounds more like a scam. Lady is from Nashville, bout 5 hours from here. Wants to remodel it and put her kids in it and use end bungalow for storage. Wants to meet us at 11 Sunday. First, it's a holiday, nobody is around, second, driving 5 hours for a sh*tbox house? And my real estate lady said her phone number came up as a scam listing so she didn't answer it. The lady asked if the lot next to it goes also, so she is either familiar with it or she google earthed it. Feels sketch. We'll see.
Was informed earlier that the vette club is meeting tonight. We meet the first Thursday of each month but given it was the 1st I just figured it would be next Thursday. so much for what plans I had after work, but that's allright. If it wasn't for the member that texted me I'd never make a meeting haha.

Saw my heart doc yesterday. Told him I've been off meds since June. He was not impressed. Told me "Don't ever do that again.". Put me at a much higher risk for a heart attack. So today I'm gonna go get some medication, do some grocery shopping, get the nursery lawnmower and finish cutting the grass at the house and put the new horn on the boat plus other stuff. Priced a new zero turn lawn mower and looks like if I buy a new one it'll cost me around $3500. GRIS, aging has it's downfalls but as long as you have decent health it beats the alternative.

good afternoon - nice day out here, still a bit humid though. Busy at work, the Kubota people have approved their test print so we're good to go and the ambulance people have sent me their artwork. I have that ready to proof but will hold off a day or two. Material won't be here for at least a week still. Whole thing being done in reflective. that will be seen from the moon when headlights hit it.
Hoping to get some stuff done on the car this weekend, didn't touch anything last weekend I just rested. Fired the temp installer help today, he's messed up more than he's helped, plus broke 2 ladders and one is missing, did a residential tint and left chewed up sunflower seeds all over the house so that was a reputation recovery process. Owner sent him packing today so now back to being even more shorthanded than we were and if all goes well with the ambulance I'll have 89 more of them to do. Plus the Kubota fleet, not sure how many of those there are.

Only goes to show, it's always sumthin. My Ariens Zoom 34 has mowed it's last pass. The time has come to get a replacment. The coil is failing, the pto for the mower belt failed, the deck has rusted through, the front tires are bulging, the mower belt is cracked. Too many things to justify repairs. Sadly the engine runs like a top. Everything else is pretty well worn out. Time to go shopping. I love my Ariens Zoom 34 so I'm gonna look for another one. If I can't find one the Gravely is pretty much identical except that it's red instead of Ariens orange. My guess is this may well be my last home lawnmower purchase. Heart doc moved my appointment up to today instead of tomorrow. Already know my bloodwork results so it's just for him to complain about my cholesterol and prescribe me medication. I haven't taken any medication since June but I'm thinking I have to restart.

Morning guys... Nice and cool right now, mid 60s, but headed to the mid 90s. Clouds up in the afternoon and threatens to drop some rain, but then it doesn't.

Started a "quick job" for a lady. she bought a microwave that fits above the stove, but it hung down too far. So we determined that we could take the cabinet and move it up 4 1/2". Had to take the crown molding off, remove the vent hood, take the cabinet loose, move it up, move the wiring from the hood up to the back of the cabinet, cut in an electric box, hook up the plug, drill the cabinet for the microwave plug and screws that hold it up mount the bracket on the wall for the microwave, prep the unit for installation, drill more holes in the cabinet for the LED lighting that was on top of the cabinet that I didn't know was there. MY point being, is there is NO quick job. Came home to make some cuts to the crown and modify the cabinet that previously held the countertop microwave. This morning, we'll go back out and, hopefully, finish up the "quick" job.

Tomorrow is Leos' first cross country meet of the year. We'll head up north, a 2 hour drive, to watch him run for 20 minutes....

Have a great day folks.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Nice day today, got some errands done and the grass cut.

Tommy, we had the sears appliance warranty on our last fridge. After the 5th time of not fixing it correctly they gave us a new one. Lemon law/policy they said. Ours was zero deductible but the tech(s) were mostly incompetent.

Gris, is GS doing a college program or what?

Hope everyone has a great day!

The repairman came. Has to order the seal and come back next week. He was a bit of a douchebag. I got into this situation because of Sue's incessant whining. I had plenty of stuff with a higher priority than a little condensation dripping on the floor from the refrigerator. If I had done it myself I would have researched it but she gave me a headache and I had had enough and called Sears to repair it. That's where the merry go round began. That first guy told me it would cost me $640 unless I had a Sears Home Appliance Plan. If I signed up for it he could do it that day for $250 plus the service call. Or I could sign up for the appliance plan and wait till the plan kicked in. $49.99 a month covers several of your major home appliances. So that's what I did. Signed up and waited. Still I have to pay a $75 fee when the service tech comes out. Still have condensation, still have a headache and soon I'll have to listen to Sue all over again about the fridge not being fixed. Sometimes it would be nice if life came with a rewind option.

PRESS RELEASE:
No. 3 Corvette C8.R nearly claims third straight overall VIR victory

CORVETTE RACING AT VIR: Garcia, Taylor Take Hard-Fought Second
No. 3 Corvette C8.R nearly claims third straight overall VIR victory

ALTON, Va. (Aug. 28, 2022) – Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor finished second in the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR on Sunday, their second consecutive podium finish this year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Taylor made a last-lap charge to finish 0.823 seconds behind the race-winning Pfaff Motorsports entry. He and Garcia were going for their second overall win at Virginia International Raceway in three years and Corvette Racing’s third consecutive victory at the fast and flowing 3.27-mile, 17-turn circuit. The runner-up result was the second for the No. 3 Corvette on the season.

Garcia began second but ran third after the opening lap as fuel-savings began almost immediately for the top three cars. He ran anywhere between 0.3-0.6 seconds behind second-place Matt Campbell before the No. 3 Corvette team called in Garcia for the first time at 48 minutes running.

The No. 3 Corvette was the first GTD PRO car to stop and took fuel and four fresh Michelin tires as Garcia handed off to Taylor. The call and stop were perfect, as was Taylor’s outlap, as the C8.R went from third and nearly two seconds back to a nine-second advantage after the first pit cycle completed.

Taylor maintained that gap while saving fuel up to the race’s first full-course yellow near the 80-minute mark. It wasn’t what the team was hoping for as the Corvette needed more fuel than the rest of the GTD PRO field due to its early stop.

The race went back to green with 66 minutes to go and Taylor fourth in class - seventh overall. He picked up one spot in the overall standings at the start and diced his way through the regular GTD field to challenge for third in class 10 minutes later.

He moved to second overall with 55 minutes to go before stopping for a final splash of fuel to get to the end of the race. He trailed Mathieu Jaminet by as much as five seconds before running down the fuel-starved leader late. Slower GTD cars impeded Taylor in the closing laps but he charged back to finish within an eyelash of the No. 3 Corvette’s second victory of the season.

Corvette Racing closes its IMSA season with the 10-hour Petit Le Mans on Saturday, Oct. 1 from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – FINISHED SECOND: "I think we had a good race. We didn't get lucky with the yellow, for sure. We were the ones taking the gamble on the earliest first stop. From that point on, that 10-second lead we had didn't last. Over the last few years, I don't think we had a yellow here. It was the right choice to get up there with that strategy. It's a shame in that respect. But we showed more pace and performance today. Great job by Jordan and the team. Let's take this on to Petit Le Mans."

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – FINISHED SECOND: "I knew Antonio wanted an easy day today! He's had a lot of long days this year! The Corvette was so good. The team did a great job with the strategy. That first call was the right one. At the time, we jumped ahead and had a nice lead. We were controlling it at the front but that yellow was really unfortunate; otherwise I think it would have been an easy day. Once that came out, we had to battle back past and passed some guys on track. After the last stop, I was trying to take care of the tires as long as possible, knowing it was going to be a long stint. Some of the Am cars lapping through there made it difficult to pass. That was frustrating or else I think we could have had a shot to win, especially seeing how close it was at the end. It was a tough day but it was nice to be back in a competitive spot. Hopefully we can go to Petit Le Mans with similar performance."

I can't stand repair people that can't give a more specific time. I don't have a half a day to take off work and miss money from 12-5 for them to show up at 445. Pisses me off. Sun is out, hot as fire here, says 78 but feels like 198. rained last night, plants are grateful. My first day back at the office and of course, it's nuts. Have a fleet started for Kubota here and a trailer due in, another fleet van dropped off for the SG360 bunch too. Keepin it rollin...

12:30-05:00 appointment for the apploiance repairman. Need to put a new seal on the laundryroom refriderator. I signed up with Sears Home Warranty for 1 year in June because I got more bang for the buck doing it that way. It's been a major PITA.They cancelled two previous appointments becasue the tech was out sick. If I had to do it over again I would have ordered the part and done it myself. I would have wasted less time and saved lots of money. That's what I get for not wanting to tackle something on my own. You can't do everything, right? ..... Or can you?

Hey guys, busy last couple of days. Awaiting materials for several projects, so scrambling around doing several other small jobs. Need to gomow at the storage shed this morning before the heat shows up. It's mid 60s now, so better get to it.

Busy, hot day. Tears of sweat rolling down my forehead and into my eyes. Worked on the boat. Put in a new compass and depth finder with tracking and GPS. I have plans of fishing come October. Maybe even September. We'll see. Now I need to get a new boat horn and flare set to get me up to legal standards. I have too many things I enjoy doing and seems like little time to do them. I'm always working to keep things up.

GRISHEIM RETURNING TO "NORMAL", THE OKC TRIBE ON THE ROAD HOME.

I JUST KILLED THE BIGGEST COPPERHEAD I'VE EVER SEEN ON THE WEST PATIO. I WALKED RIGHT BY HER AND DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL IT MOVED. SHOT HER IN THE HEAD AND SHE DIDN'T MOVE ANY MORE.

WE NEED A CAT.

Hey folks, started out nice but has warmed into the mid 90 already, looking to go to the upper 90s maybe 100 today.

Been out to the shop doing a little work, but relaxing now.

Reminds me, I haven't had 007 out for a while.

Plan to wash the Porsches today, recharge one of the a/c's install a replacement compass on the boat and do some this and that. There is NEVER a dull day. Always something to do. Boredom is not part of my vocabulary. Come on November. I can hardly wait. ( It will be here before I know it.)

Good morning, I see everybody has stayed busy. Y'all have so much to do sometimes it makes my head spin.
Calm here, we're resting today, he got his school over with and I relaxed then drove home and with the stops it took us forever it seemed like. Age is creeping up on me as when I have to ride a long time like that seems it takes me a whole day to recover. We hung out here at the pool yesterday then were invited to his aunt's for supper and got home rather late. I'm up with the dog and Arron is still in bed. Hell crawl out eventually. I wish I could sleep like that.
Gris, thanks for the info on that Dallas lake. Seemed I'd just read somewhere it was formed by the building and such. Glad to see the history. I did enjoy the area and we stay there whenever he has school there. It's not the beach but it's a nice quick getaway on the dealership's dime.

Good Morning CGs!

Had a busy week, lots of hours at work. Wife said it was too much. I guess sometimes she's right. Friday morning I wanted to get a haircut and realized I hadn't driven the mustang in 2 weeks. Then I drove the TA to work. No point in having them if you can't enjoy them.

Can't remember if I mentioned it but got the garage door height lifted so I can fit two cars on the lift now. It's great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

PRESS RELEASE:

Team eyeing three straight Michelin GT Challenge victories from second-place grid spot

CORVETTE RACING AT VIR: Front-Row Start for Garcia, No. 3 C8.R
Team eyeing three straight Michelin GT Challenge victories from second-place grid spot

ALTON, Va. (Aug. 27, 2022) – Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia qualified second in the GT Daytona (GTD) PRO class and overall Saturday for the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR, an event that Corvette Racing has won the previous two years at Virginia International Raceway.

Garcia’s time of 1:44.677 (112.470 mph) in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C8.R put him only behind Ross Gunn’s pole-winning time ahead of Sunday’s 2:10 p.m. ET race (CNBC, Peacock). Garcia will start the No. 3 Corvette and will share driving duties with Jordan Taylor.

Oppressive heat and humidity were major themes from practice sessions Friday and Saturday, plus the afternoon’s qualifying. Air temperatures climbed into the low 90s and humidity levels crept into the 60s, which sent track temperatures well above 105 degrees for qualifying.

As a result, maintaining life and performance out of the Michelin tires will be key to Sunday’s race, which will be run in nearly identical conditions. That is an area where Corvette Racing has excelled this season, including at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March – the program’s lone IMSA victory this year.

A Corvette Racing entry has claimed overall wins four times at VIR in IMSA competition. Garcia and Taylor were victors in 2020 in the now-extinct GT Le Mans (GTLM) category. They were second a year ago to Corvette teammates Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy, who are partnering this season in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

This year is the first for Corvette in the new GT Daytona (GTD) PRO category, and as such is the first at VIR for the GTD Corvette – which runs with more weight, less power, an anti-lock braking system and a spec Michelin tire compared to the GTLM class.

Corvette Racing’s love affair with VIR goes back to 2012. This will be the team’s 11th appearance at the 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course. The configuration of the circuit – two long straights and a mix of low- medium- and high-speed corners – creates opportunities for a number of engineering and strategic decisions. That’s an area where Corvette Racing has a distinct advantage given its 24-year history of competition.

The Michelin GT Challenge at VIR is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 28. The race will air live on CNBC and stream live on Peacock beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – QUALIFIED SECOND: "I feel like I got a lot out the car but not all of it. It was a decent first laps with a few mistakes. Track conditions were tricky. We had to kind of guess where the track would develop. I think I was expecting more grip overall. At the end of the day, it's the first row. I don't think we had anything for pole, but looking at tomorrow I think a lot of things will happen. The conditions will be tricky again, and the track can bite you. It will be the same for everybody so we need to see as much of the data as possible so we can fine-tune and be as prepared as possible for the race.

"I'd say qualifying was more like what we will have for the race (compared to Friday practice). Warmup (on Sunday) can give us a direction but that will be at eight in the morning. I'm sure the car will feel great then. We'll focus on what we have and we did yesterday and today to get our Corvette to where it should be for the race. Generally over the long run, we've been more competitive on pace in the race than in qualifying. Let's see if that's that case again tomorrow. This is still a new race and new track for this spec of car. Having said that, I think we are in good shape. Let's see if we can keep it up."
