Greetings, Gurus!

I'll be baking some more cookies today - Double Chocolate Chip, amongst updating some work documents. It should work out well cuz the timer on the cookies will force me to take some breaks and stand up and stretch.

I guess this isn't a good place to be if one is a wife. Perhaps I'll leave now.

This is along the same lines as the thread that Tommy posted on sandwiches.

It's a fascinating read; so easy for the calories, carbs and fats rack up.

Morning, Gurus!

Glad to hear that everyone is well! Was busy on Monday conducting a training, and spent all day yesterday making cookies - 6 batches, I think. I was also making ice cream so that Andy could take ice cream sandwiches to his work holiday potluck today. I'm hoping to win the dessert prize - a $50 gift card! My mom is taking the rest of the cookies her work.

No worries. I don't mind talking about it. In fact, if me talking about it helps someone else in dealing with their own medical issues or helps someone else make a diagnosis, that's even better. It's one reason why I'm hoping to do the research study - betterment of science, increasing understanding, etc etc, and perhaps helping someone else in their treatment.

Thanks! I have scleroderma, a rheumatological connective tissue disease/disorder, and I'm experiencing some interstitial lung disease symtpoms which are 'normal' for those with scleroderma. It's long term, chronic, with no known cure (or cause), so we manage the symptoms the best we can.

Greetings, Gurus!

My eyes are spinning now! Eeek!

Don - glad to hear they all got out okay. That really sucks.

My rheumatologist called yesterday after reviewing my CT results from last week, and while things aren't bad, they're not better. She suggested I join a clinical research trial at UCLA, which I agreed to, so I'm waiting to hear back from the folks at UCLA to schedule the assessment appointment.

Greetings, Gurus!

It's been a busier morning than I had expected - phone calls, calendaring, etc., but it's all good - it means work is coming my way. =)

Tommy - I see the whitecoats all the time. I've gotten rather used to them. And I just adore my pulmonologist - she has the best laugh HAHAHA (how you read that is what her laugh sounds like!). Today I'm off to see the vampires for a blood draw, then to the pharmacy for more drugs.

In Ikea's AS-IS section, they had this massive cart full of random wood furniture bits for 10 bucks. We couldn't pass it up, with grand ideas of creating things. Yeah, that hasn't gone so well. We've used a few pieces for random things, but mostly they're still stacked in the garage.

Good morning, Gurus!

I hate allergies. For the last year., I've been taking a Claritin every day instead of just when I'm having issues, and it's been great.

Safe travels to PeteK!

Tommy - the orchids are beautiful!

I've got a mellow week with lots of desk work and phone meetings instead of being on site anywhere else.

Happy Monday!

With all the hype of Betty White on SNL, the latest is to try to get Carol Burnett to host SNL.

In that spirit...

From the Carol Burnett Show - Part 2 of the Went with the Wind sketch - this half features the curtain rod. Love it!

Greetings, Gurus!

It sounds like we've got happy and sad news in the chat this morning - but I guess that's how life is! Condolences to your friend, Pete.

Gonna get some things done around the house and small things done for work before heading out for a CT scan. Then back home to dive into a larger work project when I have a bigger chunk of time.

Happy Wednesday!

Greetings, Gurus!

My first work day in a while where I can sit at my desk all day and actually catch up on things. Should be a nice slow week like this without having to drive all around town.

I've got some Almond Ice Cream churning away for my mom's coworker. He tried a sample last week, and loved it! So he ordered a batch. I make ice cream as a fundraiser for different charities, so he's going to make a donation.

Greetings, Gurus!

Had a good and busy day conducting a disaster drill. No plans tomorrow other than a doctor appt, so that should give me some good time to catch up on things since I've been away from my desk a bit the last couple days.

One of the funniest movies I've ever seen is one with subtitles. It's called Johnny Stecchino with Roberto Benigni. OMG, it's hilarious. I have it on VHS - which means I can't watch it anymore since I don't have a VCR, and I can't seem to find it on American-compatible DVD. Make me chuckle just thinking about it! Santa Cleopatra!

Was out at a training today. To get there I have to go past downtown LA, and I didn't realize that the funeral for Chief Daryl Gates was this morning, so traffic was reported to very very heavier, much more so than normal. I ended up just missing most of the funeral and commute traffic and made great time. I did see the hearse and its escort on the freeway on its way to the start of the procession.

Otherwise not much happening. Been working on disaster drill for tomorrow, but I think I'm all wrapped up.
