Mine was taken out by the previous owner or maybe when it was converted to RHD and does not seem to have caused any issues for me, been running that way for about 16 years now.

I don't normally like the two tones but this looks nice.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the response, I am in Australia so options are more limited than US and generally more expensive.

I did think about replacing the heads but seemed to get expensive real quick, same with the roller cam conversion.

Re the headers I have only seen 1 3/4" listed here (car is converted to right hand drive) but will have another look.

Hopefully I will get the engine out in the next couple of weeks and see what its like.

Josh, what was your setup when you ran the XFI 280 ?

Hi,
Bit of background, have owned a '86 z51 coupe last 15 years, recently the intake manifold started leaking, so I started taking it apart to replace it and "while I was in there" you know the story.

Anyway this is what I am planning

HSR intake
Ported 113's
1.6 Roller rockers
1 3/4 LT's
2800 stall
3.07 rear

Have not pulled the engine yet so not sure what the bottom end looks like but its done 120k miles so may need a bit of work.

I was looking at the one of the cams below, would they suit, its mainly street car (not DD anymore) with odd run down the strip

Thanks

Holley to not make a version of the HSR to fit under the stock C4 hood, so you need either a high rise hood or a modified HSR.

USMRACER do a modified HSR to fit the stock C4 hood, but not cheap, about the same price as a miniram.

OK, I'm looking at Datamaster and if I understand their website correctly they require a serial port DB9 connection.

The cable I purchased is USB. Can Datamaster use USB, do I have it wrong?

I have the same USB/ALDL cable and just did a quick check on my 86 and Datamaster seems to connect to the car fine, I cannot do a full test as the inlet manifold is off my car at the moment.

Easy way to check is to just plug it up and give it a go, Datamaster gives you 20 free recording sessions to test.

Previously I used a SERIAL/ALDL cable but my new laptop does not have a serial connector.
