Did you know that (at least on 96 models) if you open a door and leave it open, thus waking the CCM and turning on the interior lights they will go off after 15 minutes. But if you open the hatch and nothing else the cargo lamps will stay on as long as your battery lasts.

On my 96', after several minutes, of the hatch being opened, the lights go off. I keep my hatch open for over an hour several times a week.

on my 92, I don't think the hatch lights ever go off.

As an aside, if you leave your turn signals on, after about 1 miles, the headlight bonger will alert you.

On my 92 also, the hatch open will run the battery down. The door lites will go off like Evil's 96.

Well, they go out within 10-15 minutes on my '96.

So, to make sure I just went out to the garage and opened the hatch.
The cargo lamps came on as expected. And within 10-15 minutes, they went out as I expected. No doors open, only the rear hatch.

My 95 hatch light will stay on as long as the hatch is open. The doors go off after a while.

:me2: doors lights go off after 10 minutes or so, hatch lights stay on till closed or battery is drained, the under hood lights act like the hatch lights so I modified them and installed a switch after the fused link. Calls for a pic:

Weird. My 96 bird will turn the lights off with the hatch up only.

Same on the 94, freaked me out when I heard it gong. Thought it was in the music at first.

Dude, that's awesome. I'm thinking of installing some sort of timer on mine, but a switch will do if I don't come up with something. Any idea what color wire I should be looking for or where on an '89 vert? I have a Chilton's, I'll have to look through it some and see if it shows up on a wiring diagram to point me in the right direction.
