Good Morning CGs!

Well, I woke up, so that's a start, right? I'm not in the mood to go to work, I wanted to roll back over and hide under the covers for another 2 hours. But I can't. Last night I wasn't feeling too great. More weather changes with my sinuses is all I can figure. Neti pot x2 helped out a ton. Still had a decent headache before bed so some nyquil knocked me out. Feel much better today. I did miss my workout last night, though, which I was kinda bummed about. Wife had to take her mom to a dr's appt so I had the baby from 5-9 by myself and that in itself is a full time engagement. But it all worked out. I'll just get in a tougher workout today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Having suffered a long time with sinus problems, I find that 2 ibuprophen and 2 benadryl about an hour and a half before bedtime helps. Disclaimer. I am not a Dr, phamacist or related to the medical field in any way. This happens to help me. Just hope that no one tries to wake you in the middle of the night. You wake a little groggy but it goes away quickly and you get a good nights rest. There are lots of us here that suffer sinus and allergy related problems. A visit to a specialist, perhaps an ear nose and throat Dr. or and allergist may be beneficial. I had an allergy screen and had a serum developed that over time, helps me build up a natural defense against my allergies. It's not a cure but it does help to reduce the impact of the allergens I grew into mine. I didn't start having problems till well into my twenties. The ibuprophen helps me cope with my arthritis too. What a drag it is getting

After I got home last night from golfing I had a phone call about a computer issue someone was having and I had a former student come by with jis computer for me to try and fix, which I got. This morning (early about 4) I woke up with a heck of a cough. It hurt like heck when I coughed...burned clear into my lungs. This morning, more of the same, no fever or anything else just coughing up junk.

Get better, everyone!

A fun night last night for Vikings fans - good game, right to the end. My old body is no longer equipped to deal with 3 bowls of chili and a half pitcher of margaritas, though. I'll be glued to the TV at 4PM for the Twins' mini-playoff this afternoon.

Have a good day, all!

Hope you feel better Matt. I used to have bad sinus problems and know how crappy they are.

I don't have them anymore probably because of where I live.
I haven't had a head cold since I moved here in '84.

I do get a little of the ichy allergy stuff a couple times a year. Yea,Tommy- Benadryl works well, I've switched to the generic though.

Brad's half pitcher would probably kill anything, though.

Yup, the generic works fine. Same with the ibuprophen. Major drug stores carry them under their label. A lot cheaper that way.

Yea, I also looking at getting a prescription out of Canada,
The Feds say it's not legal, Nevada says bite me feds, citizens in our state can do it. It's 60% less expensive for the same thing (not generic).

I've been cleaning up my shed and I went through my power tools. I find the I have 5 cordless drills. A DeWalt, 3 Skils and a Craftsman Versa. I charged them all up and all of them work. 1 9v, 2 12v, 1 14v and and a Versa NIMH. I also have a corded DeWalt for them tough drilling jobs. 3 power saws. 2 Craftsman and a DeWalt. 3 jig saws. I put them all where I can find them easily. lol. I have more than that with the sanders, routers etc. It's good to have them for the days you need them, plus I have back ups. I also consolidated my fishing tackle and boxes to one area. Found a couple of special jigs I've been looking for. It sure is nice to have time to clean things up a bit. Now if I can just find some time to go fishing.

My experience is you don't want a "cheap" one, Jim. Spend a little bit and buy a decent one...DeWalt, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable.

I agree w/ teebee. Get a good one. The price you pay will long be forgotten in the use you get from it in the future.
When you buy junk tools, they remind you of it everytime you use them. I like my Dewalt 14.4v, but the battery life is not what I'd hope. Otherwise, it's a good investment.

My next cordless will be a Rockwell lithium - $189

Pricy, BUT- Free battery exchange for life.

My 18v Ryobi needs the batteries rebuilt again. The drill itself is in great condition, bearings tight etc. despite hard use. Rebuilding 2 batteries is $60 at Batteries+.
With the purchase and battery builds, I already have $180 in it.

My sanders/grinders are all Dewalt, worth the $$.

Remember "cheapness" has to be kept in perspective. A high dollar tool can be "cheap". Maybe not in the initial purchase price, but in the amount of use it might be very cheap.

Several years ago I put a purchase order in for a $139 (corded) drill (a Porter-Cable 3/8" VSR). When my principal (a non tool person) saw the PO he rejected it. When I went in to find out why, the principal told me that he'd seen in the WalMart flyer a drill "exactly" like the one I put in for on my PO for $19.99. Well, they were both 3/8" VSR but it was not a Porter-Cable. He had already sent one of the custodial staff over to pick it up. That drill lasted a month (no exaggeration here), and they would not warrant it because it was used in a school shop. Well in the spring time I got my Porter-Cable drill (mixed it in with a bunch of other stuff) and that drill is still working to this day (20 years later). So which drill was cheaper?

Cordless drills have a tendency to p!ss me off. The batteries should last longer than they do. I hope that the Li-on batteries are a better design. I have 4 good cordless drills at home that are basically worthless, because the batteries are bad and unavailable from the suppliers. Bill you say you have yours rebuilt? I'd be interested in your source.

Last time I pad $55-60 for 2, 18v. Ryobi battery rebuilds.
They lasted 3 years, still work half ass.

Like I said, for the price of the Rockwell Li-on with batteries for life, I'm basically at the Rockwell price using & rebuilding Ryobis at 10 years.

Bill, they rebuild the batteries? So, if I took mine in they would rebuild them? They darn sure don't have the replacements on hand for my drill. I did buy a couple of batteries from them for my DeWalt drill at school. I was disappointed with their performance, within a year they were like the original ones.

I guess I shouldn't have exactly called it a rebuild. What they do is take the case apart and install new batteries. If you take these things apart, they look like a bunch of AA batts taped together.

They also had an option for longer life batteries but IIRC it was another $25-30.

The rebuilds from Batts+ lasted as long or longer than the origionals.
