Cliff notes: DO NOT BUY THESE.

Resized Image

I bought these tires in June, <5000 miles ago and they are already down to the wear bars.

I have no track reviews because they didn't last long enough to make it to the track.

This is 100% street driving with 1 short burnout. They are soft, but I don't see the point. I've had other tires just as sticky that made it to 8000-10K miles including track time.

The treadlife on these is comparable to living next door to John Force with him having a key to your car.

That's good to know

I was thinking of getting those as my next street tire.

I have a couple of thousand miles on a set I bought in early Sept. They are the all season version since I knew there would be no track time. I like them a lot. They are quiet and go around our one curve real well. Mine cost about $128 each. I've been recommending them. Only 2K miles though. I will watch them closer. Ecsta ASX. They had a fair review on Tire Rack and a hell of a good price.

I have the same tires, CC, and they are wearing perfectly fine.

Put them on in May and have added about 3k miles since.

I Have Kumho Ecsta STP's on the '74 and the tires in the front have worn down considerably and have maybe less then 3,000 miles on them. However, the car is need of a serious alignment and needs the cambers adjusted. This probably has not aided in the life of these but damn! I do however like the aggressive look but next time I'm going after a set of these

I'm fairly sure that's what I'm going to try next too.

My 92 came with KDWS (different tire, M&S). 25k and 1 1/2 hrs. track time with a boatload of tread left. Not that great at the track but very good in the wet.

All Kumho's aren't created equal guys. It'd be like comparing a Chevy Box van to a Camaro.

The Ecsta XS is their softest "street" tire compound.

I've had success with other Kumho tire models, but won't be buying this one again.

Looks like you got yours on about a month before I did. Let me know how they work out for you.

I have really taken it easy on these tires, moreso than any I've run in the past.

I'll probably try the Nitto NT-05 next.

I had great luck with the KDWS too. Looks like they're out of production now though... I would have bought another set.

I think the KDWS are still around, it's just that BFG is a batch manufacturer, so they may just need to ramp up a new batch.

TireRack has both 17in sizes in stock.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they are noisy on concrete.

Just checked Tire Rack again for BFG KDWS 255/45R17 and 285/40R17. Came up dry... They did have other tires in that size though. If you have a link for Tire Rack with those tires in that size send it to me. Curiously there seems to be a small selection in those sizes...

You're right, sorry. I looked a little too quick at the sizes.

And the selection does bite.
