Good Morning Gurus!

Don't forget to vote for us in the Vette Top 100 today! And if you have more than one IP address, I believe you can vote once for each address.

A quiet weekend for me. The highlight was rearranging the living room. So what does that tell ya?

Chilly again today. Maybe snow in the afternoon.

What's new with you, Guru?

Can't believe the weather in Missouri over the weekend.
It was a very cold 2 degrees here in Rolla on Thursday morning.

Sunday afternoon, I was out in the driveway washing the Vette in 71 degree weather. That does not happen too often in January.

Supposed to be close to 70 again today, but a new cold front heading our way.
Should have taken today off, and enjoyed it a little. Oh wait, I am here on C4guru, so not getting much done at work. Guess I better get back to work.

I'm at home - a contractor is here beginning the process of putting in central air (I know, in the middle of the winter).

it's cheaper this time of year! The AC guys are not working as much... then again, in the north, they call themselves heating and air conditioning... in FL it's air conditioning and heating. Gotta keep priorities straight.

today is work... nothing exotic... gotta take the tree down, so it can be picked up by the trash men. they put an artificial limit on Christmas by putting an early deadline on tree pickup.

It rained all weekend and we spent the weekend doing house cleaning... that's about it... so exciting.

The people who we ended up hiring are actually the same people who do our oil heat. They had the best price and the most coherent approach ...

... JP (Rex Ruby) will be coming by later today - I have to get him to cut a hole in his beautiful kitchen floor.

52 degrees here yesterday, was well below 0 on thursday.
45 today, but raining (better than snow).

Went in for a blood test this morning (new meds check-up).
Phlebotimist couldn't find a vien. Felt like a pin cushion.
She finally got a vien on the top of my hand. What a sight, she says to me;
"Hold this cotton patch over the first needle stick" (in the inside of the elbow joint), then she sticks the top of my hand on the same arm, gets the sample, and says;"Hold this cotton patch over that stick point too".

Well, I've only got 1 free hand.
Of course, we both had a good laugh, so the day ain't too bad after all.

Oh, BTW, today is our 36th Wedding anniversary. (got hitched at 19)

Hey CSS996-
I remember from the other board that you mentioned that you played bass in times past. I very recently hooked up with my daughter's friend's dad and his long time friends that are all around my age, I'm 52 and they are all late forties, to form a party band and play all the old rock from the past! They all worked for Guitar Center in Hollywood CA. many years ago. I am now playing bass in this outfit and it sure is a lot of fun to make some real honking noise again!!! If anybody had told me that I would be 52 and playing the same tunes I did as a kid in my high school garage/party band I would have thought NO WAY. Now that this is happening, it's so much fun that I can't wait until the next session. I guess we never outgrow certain things from our past...
On the other front, it rained about an inch here overnight but this morning the sun is out and things are starting to dry up. Still a little chilly! Maybe I'll have to round up my buddy SamIam a little later on and go over and goad HRR (Hot Rod Ron) into doing some of that welding work on his Elko.... :toothy5:
Happy 36th anniversary to Touringmike and his wife! :thumbleft:

Hey COOL!

Yeah, I'm still playing. We "practice" on Thursday nites and Sunday mornings. We suck, but it sure is fun!

We've been working on a bunch of originals that my buddy wrote when he was a kid. I think he's 54 now. Our singer is 52. I'm the punk at 38. We play lots of 60s stuff. The Guess Who, CCR, Neil Young and stuff like that.

Not what I grew up with, being an early MTV guy, but I dig the older stuff. I wish we could play some heavier stuff though. Maybe a little Nazereth, Hair of the Dog.

"Now you're messin' with a.... A SON OF A BICH!" Bad ass!

Or maybe Sign of the Gypsy Queen by April Wine. I dig that song.

But our singer is a "Folk Rock" guy. So if I want to do heaver stuff, I need to sing it. I haven't figured out how to sing and play at the same time. It's like my brain just can't handle it....

I need to post pix of my axes one of these days.

ROCK ON!

It rained this weekend down south, also......I've got a chain saw, for hurricane purposes. It would make short order of your trees, real or artificial. :thumbleft:

Well back at work after two weeks off, it's not bad because mostly everyone here except for myself and three others are gone for a week long meeting in San Diego, so it's very quiet. About this getting married at 19 thing (DOH) I guess i was late, getting married at 37, i wanted to make sure all the play in me was gone. Well i'm 46 now and married almost 10 years, I can't say that it's all been good or bad but at least i'm mature enough to handle what comes my way, I don't know if i could have done that at 19-20 years old. different strokes, different folks. Well at least the rain is gone for now, we should get more in a few days or so.

Just sharing

I'm planning on going 4 wheelin up in the Superstious Mountain range down by San Diego Jan 18 & 19. There is about 4 or 5 of us from work with Jeeps going down to meet the other 50 or 60 from different areas. I'll be sleeping in my tent, they won't let me sleep in the motorhome cause I snore??? I've never heard myself so I don't understand why?
