Good Morning CGs!

Well, the baby did not sleep too well last night. She was up a million times and kept hitting me in the back. Oh well. I'm here now.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I bought a new edelbrock base off a guy on CF. I sent the MO yesterday, so I should get it next week. Just have to get a few minor pieces for the top end, RRs, afpr, and that's about it. I'll leave the bottom end up to the builder. Then I'm ready to go, I think. It'll be time to start pulling the motor!

My cousin was out in Washington state and just got home Monday night. While he was there, he bought a ton of fresh crab legs, tuna, scallops and other seafood and had them shipped home. We're having a feast tonight - can't wait!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Lake effect snowing warning today..6-12 inches.. winter sucks!!! Sunny out now but give it 30 minutes it will change. Everything in the wood shop so far is running smoothly. My cabinet making class is really focused today. One of my seniors is finishing up a gun cabinet out of oak, but to be politically correct we called it a modified china cabinet. I have class coverage next class period to be a guest speaker in a history class about the Vietnam War. Should be interesting since the history teacher hates the military and anyone affiliated with it. Our American History is all about conflict. I will be nice to the draft dodging POS.

Last night we had our monthly shop night and a few guys actually drove thier Corvettes out in the crappy weather. I had to drive mine home as it was being replaced in the showroom by a beautiful 1960. One of our members bought this 1960 about ten years ago and has slowly restored it to its present condition. I don't think he has left many stones unturned with it and has at least 50k invested in the redo. It shows.

We also had a representative from Hagerty Insurance come to our meeting and show us a slide show of damages incurred at the Russo and Steel auction in Scottsdale last year. It was a lot of carnage!! We then went and got our monthly beer and burito and I won $49 in the 50/50 raffle.

Vetron, here's hoping the school takes you up on your part time offer. It's not the old days anymore when a lot of dads had a workshop where the youngsters could learn woodworking. Sounds like you have a good group there and plenty of resources. Most schools around here dropped vocatioal programs long ago.

Is that where you display the "shot" glasses?

Just got back from history class guest speaker gig. Yea Joe the modified china would hold a lot of "shot" glasses. Cabinet will hold 14 rifles and numerous hand guns and below the ammunition drawer. We are now debating urethane or lacquer finish. Not sure what will happen to my wood shop when I retire.

Sounds like everyone had a reasonably good day, despite things. I had a really easy day, we had many kids gone for music festival today. To heck with being PC, i still call them gun cabinets or gun racks. Flyboy, I think you are referring to me and my offer to teach part time next year. I still haven't heard anything and spring break is coming up and I basically told them that my offer wasn't going to be open ended, I need to know if they want me or not. I need to start planning other alternatives.

Don that's a sweet vette. Matt the feast sounds good, but personally I'd wait until Friday...you know us 'fish eaters' and lent and all......
