Will a bad fuel pump cause code 34? And will a bad fuel pump make the computer go to limp mode?

A code 34 is for the MAP sensor. I would check the connection first. When this code is set a preset perameter is used by the computer.

a bad fuel pump will not cause a direct code. It might cause the O2 sensor to go into lean condition, but that's about it. Trust me, you would feel a bad fuel pump long before it goes to lean condition.

86 is MAF only.

I'd start by checking that it is plugged in properly and that there is no corrosion on the terminals. After that, checking the MAF relays would be my next step. If you have a factory service manual, I believe there are diagnostic charts for checking the relays.

a bad fuel pump can cause any number of junk codes to occur while the engine is stumbling and running like ass. If it trips with any consistency though, I doubt it's the fuel pump.
