Old but good.

What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW owner?

On a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

Hope you dont say the same for Mercedes Benz drivers, my mum is one of them due to my very strong recomendation, and she has never owned a more reliable car let alone one that is so good to drive.

I like the old 2002s ... but they have lost me with some of the new styling.

now that Chris Bangle is gone from BMW, their designs are begining to regain traction. I will say this, he created a new design look for BMW, which had stagnated. At the same time, he created a lot of talk. And sometimes, even 'bad' press is better than no press.

Has anyone here driven a newer BMW? It's a lovely piece. The drive is so sublime...

I drove a friend's 2002 racecar this summer. It felt really top heavy compared to what I'm used to. I think my stock C4 could keep up with it in the corners.

I'd really like to drive a new on on the street to see what it's like but, if I'm gonna take a trip, I'd want to take the C4 anyway.

That's a very old joke and wasn't too funny the first time I heard it.

Truly, and I've met a few of them. And the same could be said for any marque you'd care to name.
I've never been much of a fan of German aesthetics but always thought those little cars were pretty neat. BMW and Audi have made the most German cars I find attractive, Mercedes and Porsche, not so much. VW, not at all.
Side note, my dad who's nearly 87 doesn't drive anymore (I hope) but still has his '88 325si that looks like new. I enjoy getting it out of the garage and giving it a good cleaning for him when I visit. It's a real bitch cleaning the brake dust from it's intricate alloy wheels. But they sure look good after I do! He loves that car and has had it since it was a year old. His somewhat younger wife drives it often enough to keep it from getting stagnant.
