Well, I've been working on renovating mom's kitchen for a long time now. It's difficult when she lives 35 miles away and I'm trying to go to school at night and online.
Anyway not trying to steal Bill's thunder since his floor project is much more intricate than mine. Here's where we started Midway through finshed floor We also changed out the back door. Got rid of the old dark drafty wooden door. I'm glad that my friend was willing to come help me out otherwise I would have wasted a bunch of time and material trying to get it to lay out right. |

Nice work Jeff! What an improvement, your Mom should be pleased. Is that a laminate?

Ya ain't stealing nothing from me, Jeff.
No pics of the really fun part? The demo, the dust, the floor scraping? Looks great. I did the hardwood last spring (lvg. room). Your door looks identical to the doors I put in last year. |

Yep, it's laminate. I didn't scrap it all off and those areas that you can see the sub floor the old vinyl wasn't really glued down anymore.
I was worried about putting over the uneven areas where there was still the vinyl but with the premium padding underneath the laminate it worked great. Now I need to finish up a few areas of spackle and paint. |

Yes, she loved it. She was in California for the week, she knew I was working on it but to leave with it like it was and come home to that, she was speechless.
Thank you Brian. My parents raised me that way. ;) I like helping people, I don't have money but if I can labor to help someone out I'm there. |
