I had tried double faced tape and auto glass ribbon sealer to hold the loose/warped upper front of the door panels to no avail. I finally took the plunge and screwed them in. I used the same oval head captive washer screws that are used on the rest of the panel. First making sure there was something to screw into, I drilled pilot holes appropriately spaced. The drill dia. is crucial as the SMC is all that's holding the threads. I used a 3/32". I put a gob of silicone sealant between the panel and door at the pilot hole and gently snugged down the screws. They blend in O.K. and are only seen when the door is open.

Looks good. The door panels are definitely a weak spot on these cars.

Thanx. Corvette Central has a great selection. #344142 door panel trim screws 16pcs. $5.50. Hate to pay shipping but I haven't found this particular style at the local parts stores.
