Alright, I'll kick it off ...

... ran the 5k with my wife yesterday morning. It was hot and humid, so we weren't that fast, but I was reasonably pleased.

Back to work today - our fiscal year turned over on the 1st, so I'll be revising a bunch of pages and sending out various announcements. Busy day.

I hope everyone had a glorious 4th.

Thanks for the kickoff John and did you beat your wife in the 5K?.........just wondering...

Had a great 4th weekend but now face the reality of 5 days work squeezed into 4. Nuts! Weather here was great humid but not to hot. I got the Harley out and did some riding which was a lot of fun.

Got stuff to do, let's get fired up Guru's, the world starts at 8....

Good morning! I have the rest of the week "off", but it looks like rain today, so I probably won't accomplish much. Still waiting for the caffeine to kick in - ughh!

Have a good one!

Good Morning CGs!

Took the opportunity to sleep in this morning on my day off. Kind of nice. Grandma will be watching rugrats so I can go home and get some projects done.

J - glad you got in a nice 5k race. I wish I could get my wife to run 5 feet let alone 5k....oh well.

Weather has been pretty hot here. I might get a bike ride in later tonight, not sure.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Marcus,

She kicked my butt (as expected): beat me by about 6 or 7 minutes (all that spinning really helps her). I'm full disclosure - I'll post the chip times when I have them.

Fireworks at the track last night were good. There were more people there than there is for a Craftsman Series Truck race or the IRL races when they raced here. Surprising. I don't think the track or the city expected such a turnout. Traffic cops were'nt ready for the ensuing melee as the event let out.
Back is aching. Day 6 in progress. Just looking to make the right move so I can release the nerve back to it's normal position.
Went to look at the house on 1 acre yesterday. We can work with it. Let's see if I we can scoop it. We're working on it. 4/2 with a 2 car garage. Repaint, clean up and repair some wood damage with some other misc tasks. Looks like the PO liked to grow things. The entire garage is lined with 10" of foam insulation. I guess the grow house comes with the purchase.

Yesterday my hand was swollen up like a grapefruit, fingers didn't work. But nothing hurt, I haven't taken a pain pill since the 3rd. I was sure that I was going back to the hospital to day.

Got up today and the swelling's down by 2/3rds, all my fingers work. I'm typing for the first time with my right hand.

It's a bitch working woth only one hand, my left hand wasn't trained to shave my face.

And I didn't want to go to the hospital today cause UPS and FedX are delivering some birthday presents (late of course). I got a "Corvette Racing" jacket and some tooling to take apart the '67's trailing arms.

I did nada this weekend that was really productive except make a mess around the house. Yesterday was hot and humid but the wife and I managed to take a walk on a new boardwalk that has been constructed behind my house that traverses the wetlands behind us. Its pretty cool that people can now enjoy this feature without the use of a boat, kayak or canoe.

Here is a few photos from yesterday. In the second and third photos, my house is the one on the right side. The master bedroom windows look out over the wetland. In Louisiana they call it a swamp!

Its back to work for me today... Yuck, I'm just trying to figure out where I left off.

Swamp? Protected wetlands. An integral part of the ecosystem where countless species utilize this habitat for procreation, nesting and egg hatchery. A natural cleansing environment for aquatic resources.

I happen to enjoy taking nature walks. Takes me away from the grind of daily living and inspires me through the awe of natures majesty.

The promised full disclosure:

Ivelis (my wife) ran a 26:42 chip time, good for a 8:36/mile split

I ran a 31:24 chip time, good for a 10:07/mile split.

So, she only beat me by 4:42 ...
