Good Morning CGs!

Can you believe August is almost over??? Where has the summer gone? Days are noticeably shorter and cooler....I'm ready for summer again. Although my favorite season, fall, is coming up. I just don't want winter, ugh.

Haven't had a chance to test the car in a couple days since I made the last governor adjustment. I'm trying to document all the changes I make with better accuracy since it got out of hand and the shifts were all over the place. Now it's a more scientific process, one spring at a time, drive, document, adjust, repeat. Trying to nail it down. I did discover I can change the springs without disassembling the governor weights, though, so that makes it quicker.

Not much else to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Howdy! Yes indeed, the days are getting shorter. I had to turn the hall light on this morning so I could see to go downstairs. Not a good sign

Enjoy your day, all!

The sun sets at 7 p.m. at my house.

If I jump in the car and take a 4 minute trip, the sun sets at 7:30.

Morning....lots of lightning and thunder around 4 am and over an inch and a half of rain. That will end the irrigation season and that means that Big Tuesdays are over for another year.....Yay!

So now I will head back to the office and catch up on the billing and all the other year end stuff that will be required. Also time to clean out the shop and some time to work on the C5. I want to clay bar the paint and keep doing some additions to the interior....just personalizing it a bit.

It's almost time for Nebraska Husker Football! We are buzzing about the first year in the Big Ten and there is a lot of speculation as to how we will do. First game is this weekend......let the tailgating begin.

Let's rock and roll today Guru's!

Good morning everyone! Power is out for the second day this week in the building where I work. They have contacted us two days in a row and said not to come in. This has given me extra time to get the yard cleaned up and do some things around the house. Our internet and TV just came back online this morning. I could do without the TV but not the internet. Well actually we all did just fine without the internet about 15 years ago!

Mojo to all the flood victims in the North East! They seemed to get the brunt of Irene's wrath in the form of flooding. I hope they dry out quickly. I have been thanking God for days now that we were left high and dry and no trees down on my property. My town had over 50 trees downed and we only lost power for a day.

Thank You Thank You Thank YOU...

Glad to hear you didn't have any serious damage, Don!

Yeah, this storm was certainly not as innocuous as some people think. I know there were people at Carlisle that thought I was silly for leaving early. I could only say that I lived close to a large body of water that has been known to throw curve balls and I was not going to be one of its targets just sitting dumb and happy at a car show all weekend long while my house got beat to shit.

Afternoon guys....it's been a heck of a day, I hate the start of school each year. I'm glad that Irene was no worse than she was. It seems that everyone here came out pretty well with her.

I know that the end of summer was near when I got the letter telling me to come back to school.

Fall sports starts today with us hosting V-ball match and I'm working so I have to head back to school pretty quick here. I played pretty crappy golf last night, but I had fun and the food was good.

Well, I got to head back to school, I'll check in later.

I heard reports of guys staying on their boats through the storm. It's actually safer to be on the boat moored off shore if you can keep it off the shore during the storm. If you can't keep it anchored... well you could be in trouble.

Sailboats are like big fishing bobbers and it would take a huge gale with sails up to capsize one of the big ones. I think my little 25' would stay up with the sails down and anchored good. However, it would be a little unnerving but you would definitely get your adrenalin fix for the year.

I didn't see any of the commercial charter boats being pulled. They all took the storm just fine moored at the piers down from my house.
